You can disbelieve whatever you choose. From my perspective you and the truth have never been close companions. I have no issues at all with truth I dislike. I can accept things to be true that also need to changed.

Having a Press Secretary who was straight with people, even if what they had to say was unpopular with half the country, would go a long way to reestablishing trust in the Presidency, if not the President.

I loathed Thatcher’s policies but I admired her fortitude and honesty. Likewise Sir Bernard Ingham, who was blunt but honest. You knew where you stood and that what was said one day wouldn’t be denied the next. You can disagree with someone like Thatcher whilst still admiring them and being led by them. You knew Thatcher’s heart was in the right place and that she genuinely cared. Not so Trump, or his group.

I have seen the idea that Farage is a Thatcherite before, but I don’t see it myself.

He is nothing like Thatcher. He is 100% populist, saying and promising what he thinks the people want with scant regard for their cost or the deliverability.

Thatcher was focussed and determined. She was economically sound and perfectly prepared to be unpopular, if that was what she thought was needed.

Farage is obsessed with power. Thatcher was obsessed with results.

You need to go to Specsavers immediately if that’s what you think the videos show. Because they very obviously don’t or anything remotely like it.

You can criticise someone for deciding to leave their kid at home but that doesn’t make her a terrorist nor does it justify what was done to her.

There is no evidence that she “lost custody”! They remained in the care of their father, apparently by agreement. Everything that has emerged since she was killed suggests she was a well loved and law abiding citizen who was sufficiently concerned about the activities of ICE in her neighbourhood to protest their presence and video their actions.

It’s certainly sad, but it was also completely unacceptable, unnecessary and indefensible.

It had f*** all to do with her and she should have concentrated her effort on her kids. Not some random illegal who would never give a s*** about her.

You don't seem to understand that you can't stop (insert person you don't like) if the environment that breeds them doesn't change......and that's mainly economic/social cohesion and mainly resides on how well that society is treating its young men (because it's young men who change regimes after an elite split).

Are you suggesting that Britain becomes a Police state (nearly there already) and like China or Russia? Or does this only relate to the US?

As for your suggestion that regimes will kill millions of (insert group) I will mention that liberal regimes in the west kill millions of the unborn via abortion every year and already have programs to end the lives of the elderly before their natural end.

Perhaps you agree with those policies, which to others would make you what you fear-monger about.

Incidentally who are you talking about who is threatening to murder gays, Jews and any other group? Are you guilty here of attributing malicious aims onto people who have never expressed them?

It's a bit of a stretch to go from not liking a President's immigration policy to genocide.

ICE are not doing anything they didn't do under Obama and Clinton. The difference is that Trump is in people's faces about it and he has deliberately targeted so called Sanctuary cities run by the Democrats.

The local police are prevented often by law in assisting ICE so Trump swamps the area with federal employees which brings out the protestors and then we have controversial shootings.

If the local police were allowed to support ICE you could reduce the number of agents and hopefully do their job in a much less provocative way.

Personally I find it crazy that states are allowed to pass laws that stop police assisting federal authorities, that employers and landlords are not allowed to ask a person about their immigration status and generally run opposite to the laws as passed by the US congress.

Imagine Khan announcing that London was a sanctuary city and that the Met would no longer enquire about immigration status etc.

That you wouldn’t be concerned, or wanting to protest, has no bearing on the legal right of others to do so.

You can think whatever you wish about her. That’s your right. Her’s was that she could protest.

Law enforcement officers have a duty not only to apply the law but also to respect the law. They didn’t. That truly is the long and short of it.

Oh but they are!

They are now a para military group, carrying military grade weapons and wearing masks. They are less well trained and increasingly ignore the rules. Their numbers have expanded by 75% and the tactics become much more aggressive. They are conducting sweeps of neighbourhoods rather than arresting specific targets. The numbers being held has expanded. So too have the number of holding centres.


There is a concern, justified by remarks from within the Trump administration, that they are being prepared to become a Federal enforcement service sent to perform crowd control wherever the President determines it is necessary.

This is just more evidence of the growing authoritarianism of the USA.
