Every law enforcement officer should be capable of being identified. Indeed they should identify themselves to whoever they are either questioning or arresting. Their own safety is another matter completely. Behave correctly and there ought be no problem Ensuring their personal details are not available being different to their official status.

I strongly doubt that most of those being detained are gang members. Some will be, because criminals exist in every community.

Ice are out there are out there enforcing the law, protecting the US borders, and dealing with chaos stirred up by radical activists. The videos you're twisting show protesters blocking operations, getting aggressive, and endangering officers. Self defense is necessary when mobs turn violent.

As for Trump, nice try with that Fox poll, but even there, his approval is at 44% with 85% approval among Republicans.

ICE ought to be doing only what you suggest, but they aren’t. They are going in mob handed to break up perfectly legal protests and then using totally unnecessary violence against US citizens. The responsibility for which clearly lies at the door of Stephen Miller, who is seemingly pulling most of Trump’s strings and is an extremely nasty piece of work.

I picked the Fox poll deliberately because despite its capacity to try to put a positive spin on everything it cannot deny the truth that with independents and undecideds Trump is failing fast. Other, more reliable and trusted, polls show this even clearer. Trump is rightly worried that is going to lose the House at the mid terms and possibly too the Senate. Which worries Trump watchers as given his instability and unpredictability he could do anything. Currently Gabbard is trawling through State files looking for anything that could be spun to suggest there was voter fraud in 2020, ready to announce voter suppression tactics for the mid terms.

Of course Leavitt won’t lie about that, will she?

This is ridiculous. My wife was involved in an importation of drugs case and was named in the local paper as the Officer involved, her name was plastered for all to see, which should never have been done, but too late. “ their own safety is another matter” what does this even mean? Border Force Officers, by law, only have to identify themselves by warrant number, however my wife had to sign a witness statement so her name was out there.
You live in a bubble. IMO most of the Somalis in Minnesota will have gang relations, as they do in the UK

Identification by warrant number is more than enough as it enables those who need to know the identity to know it, but not anyone else. That’s all I was suggesting. ICE agents should wear identification that can be reported to their superiors, recorded by video and noted by journalists who can then follow up to see what action is taken. It would also identify repeat offenders. So long as the numbers are not connected to names there isn’t a problem. Soldiers charged in public courts are only referred to by number.

That your wife was required to sign her name which then released her identity isn’t acceptable and I trust corrections have been made.

It doesn’t matter if 99% of any group have connections to criminals. That doesn’t mean they are themselves criminal or that the other 1% aren’t. Law enforcement should target criminals. Not trawl streets looking for people who fit the racial profile of targets.

Any US resident is going to know more about how they feel personally, how their friends feel, what the circumstances are in their locality and what their media of choice is telling.

People observing the whole from a distance can see less detail but the bigger picture. How it impacts not just a district in a red State but also a village in Cornwall and all over the world.

I watch a lot of US political media. Usually several hours every day. I have for the past 25 years, but even more these days. You can dismiss that if you wish but I am genuinely worried about the direction the Trump administration is taking the USA. Not for them. That’s their business but for us and the safety and future of my family.

Determining who is a criminal should only ever be done by examining the evidence. Race and colour is never evidence.

Nobody is ever guilty of anything by association. Too many preconceptions and assumptions lead to division and resentment. It might be easier to round up everyone who fits the racial profile of a suspect but it’s backward law enforcement. It’s lazy and counter productive.

Several hours a day? In addition to keeping up to date on UK local and national and European news and politics, events at Selhurst Park reading and writing posts on here, bowling club commitments, dog walking and leading an active social life that's quite a full day.
Perhaps cut down on the American side and learn a new skill? After 25 years you could have become an accomplished juggler as well as mastering several musical instruments and now be delighting tourists with virtuosic displays of both.

Deportation case: ICE admitted an administrative error over the deported a guy with prior MS-13 ties intel and Leavitt stuck to the position he was a gang member based on that evidence, even if one mistake happened. No 'lie' just refusing to back down on a dangerous individual. Courts and his own lawyers couldn't disprove the gang link fully.

Economic: She highlights real wins like job growth and energy independence under Trump. Your "high inflation" gripe ignores how policies are turning things around fast. No direct quote from Dec 2025 matches your claim exactly and it sounds like cherry picked exaggeration.

Tarrifs: these put pressure on foreign countries to negotiate fair deals and brings manufacturing back generates revenue to the US. In the long term it will make the US wealthier. No lie here.

Hamas condom funding: This was about blocking wasteful aid. The point stands and Trump paused dubious spending that could've indirectly benefited bad guys. No lie here.

Drug prices: that's just Classic Trump bold talk for massive cuts 👍 no lie just hype.

CBS interview: Trump wanted full transparency and Leavitt relayed that forcefully because media loves selective edits. Just ask the BBC 😛it wasnt intimidation it was just demanding fairness after past hit jobs. No lie here.


Anyways.....ICE is enforcing laws against illegal immigration amid violent protests blocking operations while officers defend themselves when mob attacks.

Fox shows 44% approval overall and 85%+ for Republicans. So I don't know what you problem is with those stats. The other polls are most likely cherry picked doom from outlets that most likely got 2024 wrong too.
