So he didn't steal an election then.

Or are you on about the Panorama film which was edited and the BBC are being sued for? In which case you prove that they DID influence people with it.

Aside that, have you ever stopped to think that this terrible stuff might actually be in our best interests? I know you want to apologise and cry about colonisation and dominance but you aren't doing it on my behalf. If you feel bad then sell up and hand all your ill gotten guilt gains over to some Venezualan people.

Have you even considered what it is has been like to live in Venezuela under this dictator? 7m people have fled because life is so hard. If this was a right wing dictator you would be loving it.

It remains to be seen if the country will return to normality or if another brute will emerge. But Trump may just have started the road back to democracy for these folks.

No doubt all the oil revenues will be shared amongst the Venezuelan people …of course it will .

Didn’t need a panorama film to be influenced by ,I watched the whole election from the night to January the 6th .
Straight up behaviour akin to tin pot dictators all over the world .

Panorama programs …do me a favour .

This has nothing to do with right or left .I will take NO lessons from Trump about democracy.

Our generation knows about the cockleshell heroes but the youth will only know it if Hollywood made a movie where St Nazaire was actually raided by the US Marines.

Since when has this been relevant?

Trump made it honestly clear as to why. It is to send in US oil companies to exploit Venezuela s riches.

If you approve of that then fair enough
But it has nothing to do with effective democracy or human rights..

I just hope that this improves the lives of the average Venezuelan and does not convert that country into a banana republic even worse than before.
