Immigration

He needs to chill out with a few beers. They’re all feckin mad and stupid and missing out on life, devoting your life to something you don’t know if it is something or what your prophet even looked like.

I've always said if ever someone needed to chill out and have some beers it's the Muslims.

You must laugh to yourself as you type this kind of nonsense. Sad as f***.
Do you seriously think it isn’t done? Try checking the facts! Asylum seekers are allocated a case worker with whom they must remain in contact. They receive explicit information about their rights and responsibilities, which includes advice on expected behaviour and adherence to UK law.

Yes, wait until they commit a crime first. Like at Bondi and the 48,000+ terror attacks since 2001.
Of course not. Just look at the case today in which a policeman infiltrated and stopped what was said to have been potentially the biggest terrorist incident ever in the UK.

Good intelligence is vital and stops much more than we are aware of.

Finding ways to challenge and change extremist beliefs is never going to completely remove the threats, so good police work will always be needed. Whatever the source of such beliefs.

Why more? Are you saying that Germany and France are a second choice for the migrants who prefer not to make the channel crossing?
And as for Welsh, you do realise that we constantly employ outside contractors for translation purposes, despite English supposedly being a pull factor. I believe that HMG use 1700 translation companies; still, never mind.
Are you serious? I would have thought it was so obvious as to make the question irrelevant. Unless very short a land border is always going to be more porous.

The reason English is important isn’t impacted by the use of translators to ensure accuracy. It’s that for most people it’s the only other language they have any kind of relationship with, other than their own. Not because of us, but because of the reach of US culture.

And when those claims are rejected? Where do they head? For many years, as I have stated before, Italy ( for example) gave illegal migrants a “ free” pass for 7 days to travel through Italy, so they did not have to entertain any asylum claim from them. Does this go against International Law, yes but only if they ‘heard” the asylum claim. I have interviewed many who have said this and, in fact, I have even seen the free pass.
Please don’t believe every country fully abide by International Law, in fact we abide more than most.
My information is that Germany far outstrips the UK in the numbers seeking asylum and that Spain, France and Italy do too. Presumably any “free passes” being given only to those who decline to submit a claim and say the UK is their destination. Whilst around half of the claims are initially rejected a high number of rejections are overturned on appeal. In Italy’s case 85% of appeals succeed. What happens to those who do get rejected seems identical to what happens here. Although issued with return orders most end up in a legal morass and remain detained. They don’t just get turned out so they can make their way to Calais.

It's just our misunderstanding of their culture and we need to do more lecturing about toxic masculinity to British schoolboys which will resolve this, you racist.
Completely unrelated issues. Both important but no overlap.

We need to deal with both.

Do you think the “Andrew Tate” phenomenon is a healthy one? It’s one which is echoed here sometimes which only serves to support the need to correct it in the next generations.

They have to now, but if we were inside I suspect we would want to move it up the agenda so try to take the lead. Who knows? We aren’t in, but we would be in a stronger position to deal with this if we were. That seems unarguable.
It's arguable in as much as we didn't have much say when we were members and the situation in Germany has changed considerably since Brexit.

If a land border is always more porous than a sea border, how come Trump has managed to virtually stop migrants crossing the huge border with Mexico whilst the UK government has seen an increase in people crossing the Channel? Did Trump ask the Mexican government to kindly stop allowing migrants to cross into the US or did he actually force their hand?

Ok you know best 😂

there is a reason everybody voted for Trump. Love him or hate him, that's democracy.

We sat at a table we are no longer invited to when we were in. So have no say now which means we had much more back then!

The situation everywhere has changed since Brexit. It’s been a while since I spent more than a day or two in Germany so my personal experience is lacking but I used to spend a lot of time there. In general I think that they are more tolerant and welcoming than we are. They do though face similar problems, so I have no doubt would want us with them on this.

Has he stopped it? Or have they stopped coming? Or are they still coming but not being reported or recorded?

If I was a Mexican who was needing to flee my country, either for safety or economic opportunity I wouldn’t want to go to the USA with Trump as President. It looks like a disaster in process from outside. People only want to come when there are opportunities. Now there’s not only no welcome there’s no opportunities, no security and no legal process.

If I still decided to enter illegally I would make very sure I wasn’t detected and find a route and haven that ensured that.

So his policy has lessened the flow of immigrants-isn’t that what we want here?
I think you are also assuming that it is Mexicans wanting to come to the US. That maybe true of a small number but the majority are from central or South America using Mexico as a transit route.
It’s not French citizens looking to claim asylum in the UK but other nationalities using France and Europe as a transit route. Pass the problem back to them like Trump has done with Mexico.
Your problem is that you dislike Trump so much that you cannot bear it if his policies actually worked and were repeated here.
