Ashes cricket

I have always concluded that 'Baz Ball' would be a disaster in Australia.
We are playing T-20 cricket in a test arena in challenging conditions.
Total and utter humiliation thus far and more to come.

The ECB are the root of the problem in my estimation.

Just as Palace having Parish and co take over the club was the start of real success, having the right people at the top making the decisions is vital.

The ECB have been useless ever since I can remember.

For decades, instead of running our cricket as an exercise in producing the best Test team in the world it's been run as an exercise in making as much money as possible.

Crap again. Who'd have thought it?
The players are good enough. The preparation hasn't been good enough. The mentality and tactics aren't good enough.
The Aussies will do anything to win. So would India. Who's at the top of the game?
England need to wake up to this one day. It is always like amateur hour, despite huge amounts of money being invested.
This test, I blame the fielding mainly. It's been getting sloppy over the last year or so. Anyone could see that. But not the England management, coaches or captain apparently.
Guess what? Australia's fielding was criticised for dropping below their usual standards over the last year or so. Does it look like they worked on it? Does it look like they worked on the correct line and length? Does it look like they've examined every bowler?
Now, do England look like that? They look reactive. They don't look suitably clued up or prepared.

The batsman all seem surprised by the extra bounce.

How on earth does that happen when this series has been so prepared for.

Need to dispense with "Baz-Ball" in Test Cricket and build innings with greater care and responsibility.
I would not be surprised if 'Heads Roll' at the end of the tour.
My understanding of the meaning of madness is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results. Stokes and McCullum need a different approach. Whatever this is we’re serving up, it’s just not working. If they can't change then change them

Exactly, I could have told them what the Aussie pitches would do. They've just gone on a jolly. The preparation was like my university side. Turn up, have a knockabout for a day. Then go on the piss. In fact, we would even do a fielding session before games. England haven't.
The only player I respect is Root. I want to know who's going to have a proper go about this? If a couple of players got angry and called this out, I'd agree with them.
Imagine bothering to go and watch this? I have barely watched any. It's bad for my blood pressure (which is actually fine).

The more time goes by the less Bazball looks like a playing tactic and more like one designed to attract those who don't like Test cricket - the crowds turn up to watch 40 overs of slogging so let's give them that. The Aussie bowlers are good but imagine trying it against McGrath and Warne or Waqar and Wasim let alone the various old Windies attacks.

McCullum is not Einstein sadly, bad form for a coach not fronting up to face the media

Totally agree with all this, just so expected today, apart from the duckett dismissal where the ball kept low, its the same stupid shot selections again.

I particularly like the way England offer a faint glimmer of a possible revival, before having their hopes torn from them and smashed i to a humiliating pulp.
Preparation reminds me of why I don't follow the England football team.
Congratulating themselves on an early finish, so they could all go on a massive drinking session

Aus need 65 to win. Outclassed by an Australian team missing their best bowlers.

McCullum should go. The notion that acclimatisation is unnecessary is just one of his errors of judgment.

After Perth not to have a pink ball match under lights just demonstrates how ill prepared England are. On the radio Jim Maxwell mentioned that England had asked to practice at Perth, but too late as the ground had been booked and was not available. Last year India had the ground for 5 days. Just arrogant.

To play as badly again is inexplicable really, not respecting the game, the fans, people who love test cricket. They've played more golf than cricket and the coaches are not calling this rubbish out.

I feel sorry for the thousands of England supporters who have paid (a lot of) good money to travel out there and be subject to such a pathetic performance (again), especially with the Aussie supporters not known for their consideration, politeness and respectfulness in such circumstances.

I’m here. Fans are brilliant. Team are poor apart from Stokes Root. Archer and Atkinson put some shifts in. Rest very poor.
