New Manager Planning

I can see us getting Frank, struggling at Spurs, progressive and proven, right up Parish's street. Though we might sign a couple of ballers in Jan, go on one of our runs and Ollie stays and flies over the new main stand riding a pig.

Glasner for me is the Emperors new clothes, i would like Thomas Frank, if he is available, there would be no new contract for Glasner, i am sick of his one dimensional play, and hissy fits, big girls blouse.

Although i rate ollie higher than you, he does have a history of falling out with boards etc especially over transfers (i do agree with him somewhat that he should've been backed more).

I do agree that he could tweak the formation though. Yesterday and v everton i feel he could've brought on an extra midfielder and gone 2 up front when losing the midfield battle.

I said to my other half earlier today that frank will be our manager next season!!

Some of the comments about Glasner at the moment are scandalous. Our greatest ever manager. We should do absolutely everything within our power to keep him, including backing him in January.

For those with short memories, however, this Uber Eats advert offers a keen reminder of the ghosts of Christmas past:
I do not detect any criticism of Glasner who has provided us with great moments of joy and elevated the club to a level which we have not reached before. We would like him to remain at the helm, however there is the growing 'Mood Music' that he will depart for 'Pastures new'.

Apropos the January 'Window', as I have stated before, we have to adhere to the financial regulations and our revenue is dwarfed by some of the other clubs in the PL. Furthermore, we will not receive any transfer revenue when Guehi departs.

To be quite Frank -no.

I don’t think anyone is overlooking how good Glasner has been and still is…….but the writing is on the wall. So I hope for once we have a PlanB, soon to named Plan A.
Rosenoir crossed my mind. I assume we’d overlook the Brighton history. In truth there are few candidates, hence the need to get to grips with the reality soon.
Yes the response in January will be interesting. If it’s a few more Esse style signings I think we can assume hes on his way. He likes established pros, which is not a criticism because there are obvious immediate benefits.

Could go down the brentford route? Promote from within. It might be time for Paddy McCarthy to step into management either with us or a championship level club.

He's been assistant manager for some time now under different managers?
Paddy has never convinced when been caretaker role

There is no point us spending in Jan unless it is targets we already had that become available.

OG has even said it's too late now and he is right we have a lot of games in between now and the windows even opening (The way we always do things in transfer windows as well it all all be last minute so that is more time wasted then you need those players coming in to get up to speed it's pointless)

We all need to get ready for someone like Southgate to come in I can't really see many other options and he fits perfect with how SP likes people also has a tie to the club.

It's such a shame just when we are on a high SP has to spoil it again and I don't know how people can keep defending him.

Corberan or Fabregas.
He was one of the managers mentioned when I contacted someone this evening.
Fabregas has done an excellent job at Como.
The other managers : Erneste Valverde (Athletic Bilbao), Simone Inzaghi (Al-Hilal).

We discussed Carlos Corberan, currently at Valencia.I was informed that he deploys a number of systems accordingly one cannot predict his starting formation with any certainty. He also changes formations within games if necessary.

Before the thread gets too advanced in speculation, I'd just like to mention that Oliver Glasner is actually still in fact the manager at Crystal Palace FC. We may learn more on Wednesday. Never a dull moment eh?

I do attempt to add substantive and experiential thinking to often speculative supposition.

I do hope that Glasner is in situ after the end date of his current contract but on this matter "A hae ma doots".

OG said he assumes we will fix what we didn’t fix in the Summer in Jan…

Quite a lot of pessimists on here it seems… we’re having our greatest season ever or joint-one with last year, so greatest ever two seasons in a row then, hands down, under probably our greatest ever manager, with probably our greatest ever squad, playing beautiful, beautiful football, entertaining football, successful football, playing the Oli Glasner way.

Maybe the fact that he feels passionate enough about the club to speak about his frustrations is exactly what will keep him here. If he had no intention to stay he wouldn’t bother complaining about our transfer activity. If he was off to Madrid or Munich or wherever in the summer it wouldn’t matter to him about our (perceived or genuine) lack of signings would it?

He has a right to feel how he feels, he’s more than earned it and a lot of us feel the same as him, but there is a difference between a desire for more ambitious transfer activity and giving up on the project altogether. I’ve never seen him say anything that actually suggests he’s doing the latter.

I think it's highly unlikely Glasner will stay.

The January transfer window is likely to be an indication of whether Parish wants to back the current man or keep his powder dry for the next one.

As for a new man - well, Leroy Rosenior has a lot of plus points.
and a fair few minus points! He got lucky the other night, lucky that our forwards couldn't hit a barn door !
