Manchester synagogue attack

So well known I had not heard of it.

Mind you I don’t trawl through dustbins either trying to find scraps of paper that could be used to suggest lawbreaking either.

It was widely broadcast and there was a public outcry, but hey, you can make out that it was nothing just because it refutes another of your daft claims.

Others here will testify that they saw it all too, it occurred on one of the first protests after the Oct 7 attack, the girls proudly displaying pictures of Palestinians on powered parapents flying off toward their massacre.

Do you think the various Christian Churches should all lumped together in the “good” category when some hold unacceptable attitudes which are tangental to the mainstream?

The Westboro Baptists? Russian Orthodox (supporting Putin)? Even the Christian Nationalist movement? Others might question the Roman Catholics for some attitudes.

How many terrorist attacks and terrorist deaths have the Westboro Baptists managed to commit? I did see them with some placards with harsh words about gays but that's about it.

Synagogue attacker was on bail after rape arrest, police say Synagogue attacker Jihad Al-Shamie was on bail after rape arrest, police say

This made me chuckle as this article claims that the cowardly rapist, who murdered Jews in a terror attack, is believed by police to have been ‘influenced by extreme Islamist ideology’.

Is there any need for the word ‘extreme’ there? Serves no purpose whatsoever surely?

The bit that made me chuckle are the words used by the police in their press release in that that he may have been influenced by extreme Islamist ideology.

What absolute pathetic wankers!

The Ballfour declaration etc. The Brits had a major hand in the political mess that is the Middle East. So all you Nigels & Sharons need to own it. Same as India/Pakistan.......a Sectarian train-wreck from the British Empire.

whereas, Sweden is also a mess and that's entirely the Swedes own fault.

I'm sorry but you have this completely wrong. In India post war the British did not want to give up the empire but knew it was coming and sought to remove themselves but in the face of violence from Gandhi's lot. The Muslims wanted their own lands and the Brits gave it with the agreement of the Hindus, but the Brits could not police such a huge transition over such a large area, and warned the factions that there would be trouble if they went ahead with their plans.

THREE MILLION were butchered in the transition and Britain was nothing to do with it. Each side were pulling over trains and convoys of people trying to move state and murdering them in the thousands. To put this on Britain is appalling.

Then we disagree. Most people, in my experience, follow the news to some degree. Indeed it’s pretty difficult to avoid. When people see images of hungry children, devastated streets and dysfunctional hospitals their hearts go out. It’s natural.

Maybe you, and some others, put those sentiments aside and just think it’s someone else’s war, but that’s not typical.
Didn't see as many protests about the Civil wars in Yemen (150,000 deaths, 85,000 children dead from starvation, 4 m displaced) or Syria (C 600,000 deaths, 6.7 m displaced) but maybe there's just so much outrage to go round.

So well known I had not heard of it.

The point being that the overwhelmingly vast majority of British citizens condemn the terrorism of Hamas. Most of them also condemn the disproportionate response of the current Israeli government but are not, in any way, anti Semetic.

Have you been living under a rock?!

How can you claim to have a grasp on current affairs and in particular on this subject and not be aware of this case?!

Exactly. It was probably the widest publised case of Hamas support in the UK when it happened. It was viral.

Oh come on it was all over the news at the time. Even the BBC and Guardian. Guess what I have never trawled through a dustbin and I knew about it. Here are, fill your boots

He'll be telling us he's never heard of Abu Hamza next

You're not comparing apples.

And if you believe they are comparators are you suggesting Israel are akin to the huties and/or the previous Syrian regime?

Southern Ireland
Israel/Palestine
India/Pakistan

in all cases, when the Brits pull out , there was a Civil War.
But yes, i hear you, its maybe not the direct intention of the Brits. It just happens. It was often the Same when Rome or the US withdrew from other places. Or when the Soviet power left the Balkans in the early 1990s.

Anyhoo.....Synagogue Stabber..........he was defo a scumbag and surely well known to the Authorities.

And I'm suggesting that many support Israel as an ally and an island of civilised Western democracy in a sea of theocratic barbarians but they do not deserve that support given their conduct.
Fair enough. You may well be right but it's also possible that protests on the same level are unusual when Israel isn't involved. Just an observation.

the Westboro church.

Murders ? 0

hate-speech.....Lots.

And in this day and age, which is the more heinous crime ? We can all still invite Obama or Tony Blair onto our talkshow cos they never said any hurty words. They are great Lads, we love them all. Whether or not they signed-off on some biblical genocides ? no comment.

I’ll take your word for that but if true so is the fact that I don’t recall it. Something immediately after the Oct 7 massacre isn’t really representative of the way people feel now. A lot has happened since.
