Manchester synagogue attack

What's a Pro Hamas supporter doing working as a surgeon for the NHS? 😐
What makes you think he is ā€œpro-Hamasā€.

As the Mail article itself acknowledges he condemned the heinous attack on the synagogue and distanced himself and his family from it.

Being opposed to Israel and making historical positive statements about Hamas does not he is a supporter now. Remember Hamas started life as a democratically elected political party and not the terrorist group they morphed into.

How many terrorist attacks and terrorist deaths have the Westboro Baptists managed to commit? I did see them with some placards with harsh words about gays but that's about it.
I didn’t suggest they had committed any, even if they routinely call for them. That’s whataboutery which, perhaps deliberately, misses the point. Which is that good and bad exist in most broad groups. How good or how bad are separate issues.

Didn't see as many protests about the Civil wars in Yemen (150,000 deaths, 85,000 children dead from starvation, 4 m displaced) or Syria (C 600,000 deaths, 6.7 m displaced) but maybe there's just so much outrage to go round.
Perhaps because it hasn’t been on our screens so much? Perhaps because the perpetrator claims to be part of our world?

Of course they do. We all should. Good people need to be grouped together just as bad ones should, whatever religion they hold, or none.

Do you think the various Christian Churches should all lumped together in the ā€œgoodā€ category when some hold unacceptable attitudes which are tangental to the mainstream?

The Westboro Baptists? Russian Orthodox (supporting Putin)? Even the Christian Nationalist movement? Others might question the Roman Catholics for some attitudes.

We need to avoid dividing and ostracising good people. We need to support, encourage and, if necessary, protect them. For they are the future.
Is this why there are some charming and lovely "extreme right wingers"?

Hitler was suave, charming and persuasive etc. He produced a lovely manifesto banning fox hunting, trains will run on time etc,he just forgot to mention mass murder, racial bullying , a penchant for land grabbing and starting a global war of never seen before proportions.

And was reportedly a ringer in a spot the ball competition.

in all cases, when the Brits pull out , there was a Civil War.
But yes, i hear you, its maybe not the direct intention of the Brits. It just happens. It was often the Same when Rome or the US withdrew from other places. Or when the Soviet power left the Balkans in the early 1990s.

Anyhoo.....Synagogue Stabber..........he was defo a scumbag and surely well known to the Authorities.
I think that is called a power vacuum.

And I'm suggesting that many support Israel as an ally and an island of civilised Western democracy in a sea of theocratic barbarians but they do not deserve that support given their conduct.

Yes they do. You don't build alignments by throwing your friends to the wolves on a whim.

Yes, it's called a power vacuum, and of course you'll create another with demands on Israel to f*** off immediately

Murders ? 0

hate-speech.....Lots.

And in this day and age, which is the more heinous crime ? We can all still invite Obama or Tony Blair onto our talkshow cos they never said any hurty words. They are great Lads, we love them all. Whether or not they signed-off on some biblical genocides ? no comment.
You are making daft comparisons. No one suggests that murder isn’t the worst crime of all. It’s not the point though. The point being not to divide people up by any arbitrary metric, like the religion they were born with. That’s how anti Semitism arises and that is being, rightly, condemned in these pages. If it’s right for our Jewish citizens it’s right for every other group. We need to separate the evil from the good and bind and encourage the good in every group.
