Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool match thread

A mad game. Liverpool were incredibly lucky to not be 4 down by halftime. We were then pretty fortunate to not concede with some big misses from Liverpool. The equaliser was gutting but then we only went and bloody won it. Amazing scenes. Could easily have ended 6-5. Absolutely buzzing.

My problem with this is that refs are told not to blow the whistle in those situations let the ball be put in the net and Stockley park will sort it out . Which basically means the on field call is always going to be a goal unless its a clear handball .

I know they check every goal but I thought rule was changed so that they only ask the ref to go to the screen if the player that scores handles it.
 
Lakis missed a sitter , inside the 6 yard box that game. They wouldn’t have been the invincibles if he could kick the ball straight.

I've awoken with this enduring clip from MOTD going through my head. Liverpool have just equalised and they grab the ball and run back to the centre circle with it. all eager 🙂 :football:

I absolutely feel their pain, especially as they equalise and get on the hurry up to try and win the game only to be undone right at death! 😂 nothing more than we deserved over the 97 minutes. Slot complaining that the ref should have blown up to finish the game before we scored. Strange that, as he normally loves a last minute goal! The big fat cherry 🍒 on the top Eddies chest down and hit it first time, keeper no chance, good night Liverpool enjoy your trip home!

With their famous sense of humour they'll be laughing about how Ekitike couldn't help out because of his daft celebration of a tap in against Southampton and Isak isn't fully fit after going on strike to force a move there.
 
Went to the game with a strange feeling yesterday. I looked at the lineup and thought we could win, not with the usual preconditions of Liverpool having an off day etc, I just thought we could win.

Glasner has the players, the staff, the fans, Pete and Alice etc all believing, that for any given game, we can win. Absolutely amazing.

And also, Glasner's tactics spot on. We had a front 3 press on Liverpool goal kicks and they had no idea what to do, and we kept playing the ball long to Mateta, not to get people in behind, bit to pick up the second balls in midfield. Worked all day. Subs were great. Just an amazing performance.

Enjoyed MOTD this morning we finally got justice from the programme. Even Slott said we should have been well ahead at half time.

I particularly enjoyed the comments about their defence being awful. If I was Real Madrid I would be thinking sod Konate let's get Guehi instead.

I think the more sensible Liverpool fans will be raging why did we muck Palace about and leave it so late with our bid.

Well done the lads a truly great performance. This team deserves to break our unbeaten run record so let's hope they do it this week.
