Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool match thread

As a Palace fan absolutely grounded in reality, I feel we have to be cautious this evening. Liverpool are a good team and I only give us a 50% chance of catching them to win the title.

Let's prepare ourselves for only winning one or two trophies this year because getting carried away might make us look foolish
I'll be happy to feel safe from relegation by Christmas...........

Similar issues but the ball did deflect and the only thing near it was Salah's hand. The deflection was very slight allowing the claim you couldn't be sure he'd touched it.

Salah stuck his arm out and touched it. If it was the other end it would've been disallowed. And thank feck for auto computer offside because that line would've been drawn differently

Well, what to say, the first half was probably the best i have seen them play, ever, giving the opposition, we could easily have been 4 up after 30 mins, everybody played well, Mitchell is starting to look like Muñoz, the back 3, especially Richards were outstanding, the better bench made a big difference, for me Kamada was MOTM, i didn't think he could play as good as he can. full marks to everyone connected, in the end we got the deserved result, COYP

Keith Hackett agrees. Eddie's goal is here too.

If you need even more of a 😆 laugh
Thank you for posting that compilation. It made me laugh, but not about the Liverpool fans, more about the club itself.

There are a few things I really enjoy:

1.) when an alleged underdog beats a team, that was on real winning streak.

2.) Crystal palace

3.) Crystal palace

4.) Oliver Glasner AND (guess what): Crystal Palace

And, last but not least, the german proverb: "Jemanden vom hohen Ross runter holen". Which means, that you take away arrogance and the state of feeling superior to anyone else. Thats the best part about todays game for me.

Greetings from Vienna, Austria.

Sincerely yours,

The (one and only) Schnitzel

Oh, I almost forgot: Congratulations 🙂

I haven't seen the replay but don't var only get involved if the player that scores handles it?

He certainly did.
But Salah also handballed it, so fairs fair.
Salah threw his hands in the air trying to win a penalty after Maxence had tugged his shirt and inadvertantly handled the ball. If the ref's dissallowed the goal they probably would have given a penalty.

No they get involved for every goal . Any potential infringement in that phase of play is looked at . What they have said is that it wasn't clear one way or the other so went with the on field call .

My problem with this is that refs are told not to blow the whistle in those situations let the ball be put in the net and Stockley park will sort it out . Which basically means the on field call is always going to be a goal unless its a clear handball .
Not sure how they missed it though it seemed pretty clear from the angle Ive seen
