Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool match thread

Also off topic and sorry to get in, but I have to add, that the squeeze of lemon juice is an old tradition which dates back to former times, when the lemon juice was used to cover the taste of cheap and foul-smelling meat. Nowadays you - hopefully - don't get foul-smelling meat in your Schnitzel but the tradition to put lemon on your Schnitzel remained.

So to equate in footballing terms

Nuno was the lemon to the Marinakis old style Schnitzel

MOTD will be 20 mins of talking about what Liverpool did wrong and how unfair it all was and then, well done Palace onto the next game.

f*** em. That was utterly magic
To be fair, it turned out to be Shearer raving at length about how goodPalace have become and Micah managing a very brief response to enquiry about Liverpool. Strange daus have found us!

Fair play to Shearer but he's now got Kelly presenting rather than Jug Ears directing the conversation. Without being too paranoic about it we must've really upset the crisp thief at some time.

What are the lyrics of this song that Holmesdale and Arthur Wait sing together, followed by Glad all over?
I could hear "we're the holmesdale
we're the holmesdale
????????????

The Americans say 'football' when they mean 'grid iron' and 'soccer' when they mean 'Fußball' as they say in österreich. If you vont to sound like a real Englunder den du canst say 'footy'. And off topic what do you prefer on your schnitzels, a squeeze of lemon juice or eine dollop off der cranberry sauce like our illustrious leader Herr Glasner? I hope you don't mind my Germanification of English, I think it adds to the conversation.
Thank you 🙂

I like this Germanification 😁 I prefer a squeeze of lemon juice. I never understood why crqnberry sauce is added, regardless of the fact that I really enjoy Austrian food.

Watching a replay of the goals I notice Guehi should have been given an ‘assist’ for the first one as well. His header clearly goes through the group of players to the unmarked Sarr without any contact. One of his best ever matches but embarrassing for him against his potential future employer. No wonder he didn’t celebrate either goal!

Three days on and still buzzing. We were so so good! Credit to Slot for acknowledging it.

Guehi or Wharton my MOTM but honestly everyone was great (yes, even Kamada had some good moments.) Genuinely believe we could do a Leicester….!

Refwatch this morning on Salah's handball.
Gallagher: It's inconclusive. I can't tell if he's handled the ball.
Bothroyd: Definitely handled the ball and deflected it away from the defender (Richards).

Nice to see there are some constants in life.

I can't shake this horrible feeling. Crystal Palace are feared by every club in the Premiership.

I have become,.... a glory Hunter. 😱😱

And, shock horror, Mark Clusterf*ck has come out and said our first goal should have been disallowed.

If that c-unit had been reffing the game, he would have blown the final whistle just before Palace's second crossed the line.

I would say given the quality of the opposition the first half was the best Palace have played in the Premier League. Although we don't usually look like conceding when we play we don't create bundles of chances - usually a few decent ones. I had to pinch myself how easily we were opening up Liverpool. Kamada and Wharton are a very good midfield patnership and Pino is happy to feed Mitchell which as others have said is giving us a threat on both flanks ( Eze tended to use Mitchells runs as a means to give himself some extra room )

I don't want to detract from our attacking masterclass, as we exploited their set-up - they play a high line with relatively slow centre halves; just put that ball in behind van Dijk and Bob's your uncle...
