Not thrilled with this one. He's not very big and doesn't score many.
A sorry state of affairs, I’m affraid. We’re thankfully almost at the end of the window when all will be revealed.
Big decisions loom on Guehi, and who replaces him if he goes.
Looks like we’ve been knocked back on Akanji , Gomez and Salisu and I understand that Diomande , who was supposed to be to be our main target, is injured as well as being too expensive.
It seems likely that Guehi will go, so the main question is whether we can get in an experienced replacement.
On the attacking options, Bournemouth have been adamant that Brooks won’t be sold and Austrian forward has said he’s staying at Leipzig.
This leaves us with the possibility of El Khannouss, Nelson or…… Sterling.
Sterling would be an odd one as Glasner explicitly denied interest in him a week or so ago.
Finally there’s Gallagher, who is supposedly now a target for Manchester United and Spurs.
I just can’t see Palace competing financially for his services.
My best guess, and it’s only a guess, is that we end up with El Khannouss and Gomez, with Guehi going out.
Agree, the transfer window will always appear scattergun until deals are done. Whether the reality is or not is difficult to tell.I think the scattergun ( hopefully ) has more to do with the media reporting . You’ve got to think they got plan A - G and beyond .
Also swings both ways , clubs who have bought and need to sell , can also get motivated
Lots of ball's in motion and SP has been doing for over ten years
Comes up to someone blinking , another club buying and a regular somewhere with WC aspirations realising they ‘re going to be sitting in a bench
You have a really low bar then. I find it hard to say any of these have been good in terms of cost/salary. Ahamada, Nketiah, Franca, Holding, Kamada. If more than 50% work out then you have done well. Some teams do better, e.g. Brighton, some do worse, say, West Ham. We are middling but some of the successes have been outstandingThe timing of our transfers are the main frustration as Glasner has said himself. Although, I understand it's hard for a club like us because we need value and can't pay silly money or wages. Plus, this year I agree that the Europe debacle has cost us potential players as others have mentioned. Even money wise as the Conference League rewards half the amount that the Europa league pays out.
However, I trust that we'll get the right players in with the right mindset (which is very important given the cohesion of the team). Generally over the past couple of years all the players that we have signed have worked out well and contributed. Even Kamada, who looked like a flop at first, came good once settled in. I can't think of a genuinely bad signing over the past few years with some real gems in there too. The only real question is whether we get the right number of needed players with so little time left.

Not in squad for Old Firm currently on.Not thrilled with this one. He's not very big and doesn't score many.
He might be but I still wouldn't be pleased to see him at Palace. Unless he plays brilliantly in which case he's welcome. Not in squad for Old Firm currently on.
He's going somewhere
Quite tiny for a pro.He might be but I still wouldn't be pleased to see him at Palace. Unless he plays brilliantly in which case he's welcome.

He's about 5'7" which isn't a problem if your name is Messi or Maradona but his isn't.Quite tiny for a pro.
The only right back I saw is linked with was Arnau Martinez. He's only around ten mil too.Have we been linked with any right wing back cover at all?
Kamada didn't have a patchy start. He was atrocious. He only looks relatively good compared with that - though I grant that he more than played his part in the open spaces of the Wembley games. He is now more than halfway through his spell here - unless extended - and is probably our highest paid player, at least for a few daysAhamada and Holding - Nup
Kamada good player after a patchy start
Nketiah / Franca - to early to say though given the time he’s had , I think Nketiah will come good
It seems Gomez isn’t keen. Odd really, hes English and I imagine he might be interested in the World Cup. He would play regularly for us, assuming Guehi leaves.A loan would suit us if this French lad’s coming and potentially Riad back around Christmas.Gomez and Elliott, two players that we are linked with are on the bench for Liverpool.
Despite their injuries, Eze is only on the bench for Arsenal.
I told him he should have stayed at Palace!
I agree and disagree. We do need to get away from lastminute.com dashes but the close season has been dominated by the UEFA issue plus I think the loss of Freedman has been felt. if be happy with Pino, Canvot +2 - assuming Guehi goes.A sorry state of affairs, I’m affraid.
The targets, transfer fees and personal terms should have been agreed weeks ago on the expectation Eze and Guehi will be sold.
It now feels like a last minute scatter gun approach with us being linked with a new player every hour. We’ll be held to ransom as clubs know we’re desperate.
The Europa League debacle must have been a influencing factor as I suspect we could have attracted better players had we not been demoted.
I hope I’m wrong and Parish has a trick up his sleeve/masterplan, but it feels unlikely that we will unveil the required 4 additional new signings today.
