Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

For all the complaints about recruiting , the reality is the base level from which our incomings are coming from a step up .

For three mill we picked up an Argentinian and Croatian international ( World Cup semi ) and two next two players were established in top tier leagues rather than coming from a good season in the championship .

We are now a more attractive destination . Can’t imagine Pino would have given us the time of days 2-3 seasons ago .
 
Nketiah back from injury earlier than expected together with the potential emergence of Ben Casey(u18) may negate the need for another emergency forward and we could hang on to Edouard til Xmas!

Maybe I should have said that they dont want to sell any more first team regulars . But of course if the price is right the deal will be done .
They are already making enquiries to replace Simons with Harvy Elliot so when they say they need to cut the squad I guess they are talking about fringe players

Doubt we will go for a striker. We have 2 and Sarr can cover if needed.

Now to the Right back cover Ollie wants…. noise around that has been very quiet, so it will be interesting to see how that progresses. Clyne of course can do a perfectly good defensive job in that role.

This is a common trope, but I just don't see it. He has a heavy touch and is poor with his back to goal. Several passes like that were played up to him on Thursday and the Fredrikstad defenders handled him easily

I think Sarr could play up front in a 4-4-2 although he’d have to be the 10 rather than the 9 and I accept that under Glasner that is pretty unlikely anyway.

Under our current formation I agree with you and he could only ever be an emergency 9, however you would hope that following our stunning transfer window this will be a non issue😁

1. Baumgartner seems like a deal to sweeten Glasner. He's Austrian, Glasner apparently likes him.

2. El Khannous. I still have an inkling that pressure from the player's mum may push him back in our direction. Mums can be ferocious in their negotiating. With Pino signed there will be less pressure for him to carry the full weight of Eze's exit. He was missing again from Leicester's squad last night.

3. I think this third one will be a central defender, but if it happens it will be because we agree to sell Guehi. If we do let Marc go then I hope we get Akanji. I can't see us signing two defenders and keeping Marc.

Think you are bang on, possibly with Nelson instead of EL Khannous though.

If he can show today's performance with us he will sweeten some more. Scored a lovely one and put another on the crossbar.
