Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

Suspect it would take more than that. Maybe £100 m and Cole Palmer but even then he's gone off this season.
Not sure Palmer could manage a transfer to be honest, the deal would go through and the next day he'd turn up back at Cobham.
Probably best he stays where he is, where they tie up his shoe laces, put him out onto the pitch and watch him go, poor lad.

He's not bad though. Better than his cousin Carlton anyway.

Pino in.

Canvot, Akanji and Baumgartner/Nelson next?

Edit: OG said its impossible to replace MG now so presuming Akanji isnt happening
I think we can cross off Baumgartner his club RB Leipzig have just sold a Xavi Simons to Spurs for £50M and don't want to sell anyone else this window
Canvot sounds like a strong possibility ,French news outlet reporting Palace have agreed a £27M fee for the 19 year old CB .
Nelson ? who knows ,probably on the back burner if other targets fail to materialise

It seems we are aiming for 1 more attacking midfielder to give us more defence unlocking ability and allow some rotation with Sarr and Pino. Brooks looks like a great shout esp at the price IMO but I would love to get El K. Esse and Franca remain ones for the future.

And the Beeb are reporting we want 2 defenders to cover for Marc. The French kid being one and probably someone who will be able to step in day one until he and Riad are ready, if we let Marc go.

Doubt we will go for a striker. We have 2 and Sarr can cover if needed.

Now to the Right back cover Ollie wants…. noise around that has been very quiet, so it will be interesting to see how that progresses. Clyne of course can do a perfectly good defensive job in that role.

In Glasner’s press conference he referred to ‘4 or 5’ new players joining which includes Pina and Jaivot.
That equates to another two or three joining on Monday.
One appears to be skilful ball player - El Khannouss, Brooks, the Austrian forward , Nelson have been linked.
Who would be the others?
Glasner was adamant that he doesn’t want Guehi to leave, but if he does one newcomer would surely be a defender.
It’s a mystery who the other newcomer would be .
We were linked with Hwang which would indicate we were interested in a forward (particularly if Edouard leaves).
And then there’s this surprise option - Gallagher.
The story has gone quiet in recent days, but that doesn’t mean it’s dead.

More broadly Glasner reiterated his wish that transfer business had been done early.
He said there was only one full week of training between now and Christmas and it’s difficult to integrate 4 or 5 new players with that schedule.
He said, quite reasonably, that such integration could have already happened if the players had joined earlier.

Canvot I meant, not Jaivot

I know we are getting some signings in now...I'm still so annoyed we didn't do it during the summer. I can only imagine what Oliver Glasner must be feeling.

I trust SP he has gotten us this far but my god it is frustrating.
I think the two complications were the loss of Freedman still being felt and some much time and energy going into the UEFA issue. But I agree it must be frustrating for Glasner, it must come across that we are constantly trying to shop last minute.com.

Leipzig had a very bloated squad, about 34 players so do need to cut still.

I find Nelson an underwhelming prospect there are better players ( and cheaper0 out there).Seemed to be going places when he was younger but for whatever reason his development has stalled it could be a lack of regular minutes or a being bit richer and therefore laid back.

The fact JRS and Eduoard didn't travel to Norway suggests to me they must both be off.

The deal for French lad looks almost done. So with him and Pino, that leaves us to speculate on who the other 2 or 3 might be. Just for fun, here are my thoughts.

1. Baumgartner seems like a deal to sweeten Glasner. He's Austrian, Glasner apparently likes him.

2. El Khannous. I still have an inkling that pressure from the player's mum may push him back in our direction. Mums can be ferocious in their negotiating. With Pino signed there will be less pressure for him to carry the full weight of Eze's exit. He was missing again from Leicester's squad last night.

3. I think this third one will be a central defender, but if it happens it will be because we agree to sell Guehi. If we do let Marc go then I hope we get Akanji. I can't see us signing two defenders and keeping Marc.

Jaydee Canvot can play DM as well as CD, Brooks, or if we have to Nelson, and a right back cover for Muñoz is vital, if Guehi stays, that will do me.

A lot down to injury record, I believe. Fulham had him on loan last season, thought about doing so again but haven't as yet. He got injured with them.

Avoid!
