Sat 16 Dec 1961 @ Home v Torquay 7-2 win Div 3Mid sixties beat Torquay 7-2 as I recall - maybe Div 3 or perhaps div 2
We might have lost but at least you saw Kenny Sansom and Vince Hilaire in your first game.1979 and I was 9, went with my dad who had a season ticket. Unfortunately saw us lose at home to Wolves 1-2 in the league cup. Can't remember anything about the game. I think I spent most of the match looking into the stands waiting for the fans to chant Eagles whilst unfurling their arms in unison.

I was bored, so looked up. 😊
The only thing I remember about this game is that I bought one of those scarves that had the home colours on one side and the yellow and black away on the other side.1979 and I was 9, went with my dad who had a season ticket. Well you have the correct name & he played 62/63, 63/64 & 66/67. Scored 3 goals in 53 appearances according to the stats on here.Something that has bugged me all my life, I can’t recall my first game. My dad took me, would have been about 1962 or 63, remember a nippy little winger called Stewart Imlac. Other than that, don’t have a clue.
Have read his biography written by his son, Gary, who is a sports journalist, called “ My Father and other Working Class Football Heroes”. It really is an excellent read and shows how the lives of footballers have changed.Something that has bugged me all my life, I can’t recall my first game.
