Yeremy Pino

5 Goals and 5 assists (Transfermarkt) in 2410 minutes 33 appearances. Given he had no pre-season, was thrown immediately into 2/3 matches a week with unsettled players and a manager who doesn’t give a s**t I think he has done ok considering it.

Some on here don’t give new players any leeway when they sign. Sorloth was pilloried despite coming midway through the season, having Roy unhappy at his signing and starting only four matches before being assigned to the bench. As I recall it Glen Murray, Andy Johnson, Attilio Lombardo, Julian Speroni and many more had slow stars to their time at Palace.

It is worth noting that the idolised Jordan Ayew’s best figures were 11 goals/assists in two of his seven years at the Club. Let’s hold on and see and support the team.
I agree with this. He wants to be involved and has shown flashes of talent.

I also think that we need to give Johnson some leeway. He has gone from the bloke who got Forest promoted to top scorer at Tottenham, and that has quickly turned into not being wanted at Tottenham, coming to Palace presumably under the impression that Glasner is staying, and has instead been pitched into an environment where the manager and several key players want out amidst a terrible run of form. How's that for confidence-building for a player who is still young ? He must be completely bemused at what has happened to him over the last 6 months. Patience and support are needed.

Ayew was a workhorse and while his stats for goals/assists isnt great that is not what his main game was about his hold up play and helping with defending etc was key for us.

Some players are not cut out for Prem and excel in other leagues (Others need to sometime go away learn craft and then later on do well in Prem)

People trying to defend Pino with but he gets picked for Spain he must be good is rubbish International football is not the same as league football & what has he done so great for Spain nothing.

He has only played 19 times for Spain first time was when he was 18 he is now 23 that is not a good number (I will be fair to say 1 of those years he was injured but still 19 games in 4 years then is poor)

So odd. There are lots of very good players who never amassed 19 caps over their entire career.

International football is different, but the point remains. You dont get picked to play ANY games for a top team like Spain if you are a chump.

Lets not write him off too soon

I'm wondering if we'll see a change of formation whereby Pino will no longer be required to play in the left sided role.
He played in a central attacking midfield role at the weekend and got on the ball more, even if his passing was found wanting.
It could entail a move to a back 4 in a 4231 formation if Glasner can swallow that.

Suspect he'd rather swallow cyanide but you never know.

True. Too many fans look at the transfer fee and forget that there is an individual - just like many of us - behind it.
