I agree with this. He wants to be involved and has shown flashes of talent.5 Goals and 5 assists (Transfermarkt) in 2410 minutes 33 appearances. Given he had no pre-season, was thrown immediately into 2/3 matches a week with unsettled players and a manager who doesn’t give a s**t I think he has done ok considering it.
Some on here don’t give new players any leeway when they sign. Sorloth was pilloried despite coming midway through the season, having Roy unhappy at his signing and starting only four matches before being assigned to the bench. As I recall it Glen Murray, Andy Johnson, Attilio Lombardo, Julian Speroni and many more had slow stars to their time at Palace.
It is worth noting that the idolised Jordan Ayew’s best figures were 11 goals/assists in two of his seven years at the Club. Let’s hold on and see and support the team.
I also think that we need to give Johnson some leeway. He has gone from the bloke who got Forest promoted to top scorer at Tottenham, and that has quickly turned into not being wanted at Tottenham, coming to Palace presumably under the impression that Glasner is staying, and has instead been pitched into an environment where the manager and several key players want out amidst a terrible run of form. How's that for confidence-building for a player who is still young ? He must be completely bemused at what has happened to him over the last 6 months. Patience and support are needed.
