Worst and Best

John Lacey, David Price awful, Benteke cost us 70m, Sakho similar,

AJ, Trevor Francis singing, i think two free transfers from Chelsea, Micky Droy and Gary Cahill where very important at the time, Forwards, Hmmm, Gareth Taylor, Akinbuye, Paul Dickov, Steffen Iversen, Cameron Jerome, Chris Jones, Tony Mahoney, Andy McCullock, Michele Padovano, Freddy Sears, Sandor Torgelle,
What a list, if this dosent give you nightmares nothing will.
Fuckin hell that list of forwards has brought on my ptsd man!
Peter Taylor was a decent buy though.

Mullery really did bring in a lot of tired old junk, and Peter Taylor as pleasant as he was hopeless did bring in Jose Fonte for 200k which was a fantastic bit of business. I think we forked out quite a bit for Mick Hill from Ipswich in the early 70s, one of Big Mal's particularly unfathomable decisions.

I take your Akimbiyi, Gareth Taylor and Ishamel and I raise you

Itzik Zohar.

About as much use as tits on a fish. Singularly the worst sack of s*** I’ve seen in a palace shirt.

Crap and lacked enthusiasm.

I thought Marco Gabbiadini was a bad signing when we paid 1.8 million for him to replace Ian Wright. He was nowhere near as good although valuation wise the fees were not far apart. I still think getting 50 million for Wan Bissaka was up there. He just looks so hopeless when he has the ball at his feet for a Premier League player.

We should stop buying/loaning from Arsenal - David Price, Julian Gray, Tommy Black, Sanogo, Jenkinson, Holding and Nketiah (…so far!).

To compound the issue Arsenal have had Wright and Mcgoldrick from our most successful team.
To add to that, in the early 80's, they also had Peter Nicholas off us for peanuts!!

We did, we get our rubbish from the bin dippers now 😀

What about when we signed Gareth Taylor? The thing with that signing was that his strike partner at Bristol Rovers Marcus Stewart was a bit of a goal machine, but we signed his donkey mate🤣🤣

On the other hand their near neighbours gave as £30m for an injured Bolasie so I think the city of Liverpool as a whole is at about even with us

And I suppose they helped us dodge a bullet by signing that goal machine cenk tosun for £27 million

yes, but he had lovely hair, bit like Hugh Grant you know, those 90s wings, Thomas Frank has the same style now, but not as nice as Gareth's. It's probably why he didn't like heading the ball, ruined the look.

One of the worst players we signed in my opinion was Neil Emblem, think we paid £2m to Wolves for him, 6 months before he had been playing non-league. When he came too us I think he thought he was back in the Croydon Sunday League, dear God he was utter pants.

Anyone mentioned Trevor Aylott yet?
The great thing about supporting Palace in the era of Langley, Aylott, Jones etc is pretty much everything else is going to seem great in comparison to it (even the old 3rd division where we started to look good again, as far as I can remember back into the mists of time !).
