Woke is alive and well

They're willing to lock up an 81 year old after he allegedly stood on a protestor's leg to stop him getting away from police.

He’s not been locked up. He has been charged and pleaded not guilty.

Which if his defence is true and no evidence exists to contradict it means he is very unlikely to be convicted. If the CPS are proceeding with the case I suspect there must be quite a lot more to it that we don’t yet know.

It's just crazy tthat many people in the UK are victims of the propaganda and want to re-join the EU
Your first line is right. The propaganda being that Brexit will eventually work out well.

The second wrong. When 48% didn’t want to leave in first place it doesn’t take much of a switch to have the majority wanting to rejoin.

I think its called Stockholm syndrome. When an abused person forms some kind of an emotional bond - with their abuser.
There are probably still some local men, living in this village, who think the EU is their friend. Local Men. Soon to be outnumbered 3 to 1. Outnumbered by newcomer men.

That’s a pretty unique situation that in no way reflects the general one.

Different stokes but I'm not going back to somewhere which was so unwelcoming when there are thousands of other places to go.
Entirely your choice but having been to thousands of other places both here and in distant corners there is nowhere else for me. Cornwall has a unique charm and character not found elsewhere.

It's certainly ideal if you want to be called an "Emmett" and resented for putting money in people's pockets. That it's charm and character is not to be found elsewhere is an indication of it's appeal.

‘Operation Scatter’ is going to happen here as well. I’d laugh at the sanctimonious useful idiots it’ll affect if it wasn’t so bad for us all.

They are willing to. Point gone over your head.

The best thing to do is go to Devon and tell everyone you don't like Cornwall. You'll get free pints, a slap on the back, offers of an ugly daughter for a wife. The works.

They certainly call some tourists “emmets” here but it was originally just a Cornish word for incomers like me and not really prerogative at all.

These days it’s reserved for the worst type of visitor. Those who show no respect for local people or the environment, drive inappropriately down narrow lanes and act as though they own the place. Most aren’t like that and come to share and enjoy the unique qualities that this special place has.

If it was addressed to you, or anyone you were with then either you were very unlucky and encountered an unusually nasty local, or must have been doing something that deserved criticism.

“They” (actually we) are willing to lock anyone up who breaks the law. Even 81 year olds.

That’s not in any doubt. What is in doubt is whether he broke the law.

Maybe that point has gone over your head!

were they willing to lock up The Manchester Airport thugs ?

their fists went over the head of that policewoman.
