Here it is Planet FootballLast season, in the list i saw, he was No1 at 65 fouls against him, about 20 in front of the second player who i think might have been Salah 🤣

Exactly - pretty damning on our management when you consider we wasted all of those opportunities. Here it is Planet Football
Technically this would have meant sending numbers forward into the opposition's box - anathema to Roy Hodgson. It's not a coincidence that our record at set pieces was so poor. Ayew was used by Hodgson as a defensive "out" - to relieve pressure on a beleaguered defence, and buy time. This still doesn't at all address why we didn't make better use (truth be told any use at all) of the hundreds of free kicks he won.
Indeed. I figured we just didn't work on set pieces - which was wholly unacceptable and completely unprofessional.Technically this would have meant sending numbers forward into the opposition's box - anathema to Roy Hodgson. Sorry but nothing like the Murray sale and not a mistake. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but knowing what we know now doesn't mean a mistake was made. There was no reason to think we would need Ayew when we sold him. We were bringing younger, and on paper at least, better players in. We were not to know that Kamada wouldn't settle or that Nketiah couldn't do the no 10 job or that Sarr would take so long to settle in and show his worth. On paper, had Ayew stayed he would have been behind all three of those players at the beginning of the season, so it made sense AT THE TIME to take the money Leicester. offered. This reminds me of the Glenn Murray sale.A huge mistake.
Its part of the process of reducing the age of the squad. I am sure if we were offered up to £8m for Clyne, Schlupp or Ward, they would of been sold instead.Sorry but nothing like the Murray sale and not a mistake. PS. Just in case you were wondering, I was always a big Ayew fan
You put the the 4 together, who would you have kept? Keep in mind he was never out injured, I bet most people on here would have kept him……….Its part of the process of reducing the age of the squad. Looking at it from another angle, those three (past it at EPL level) are still on the books and getting paid for sitting on the bench! If this doesn't illustrate the lack of depth and the failure to draft in younger players from the academy or wherever then I don't know what does...Its part of the process of reducing the age of the squad. I am sure if we were offered up to £8m for Clyne, Schlupp or Ward, they would of been sold instead.

A decent summary. Last summer’s recruitment can at best be given 5/10 whereas the previous window to that was excellent. The issue has been the players we've brought in not the ones we sold.
IMHO, of the ones we've brought in, only Lacroix has, so far, shown his worth and the more I see of him, the more he is an upgrade on Andersen, at least as a defender.
- Olise was out of our hands
- Andersen was good business for a player who's 28 and wanted a long contract on too high wages
- Ayew was unexpected as we probably didn't think anyone would come in for him and we expected the incoming players to be better.
- Johnstone was good business and has hardly covered himself in glory at Wolves
Add to that a missfirng Eze and an injured Wharton, and we are a shadow of the team that finished last season so strongly.
- Sarr is beginning to adjust back to the PL and will probably prove to have been worth what we paid for him.
- Riad showed promise before he was injured
- Kamada has shown nothing to suggest he's going to adjust to the cut and thrust of the PL. Some players simply don't function in the PL despite doing well in other top European leagues.
- Nketiah is an enigma and yet to show he's worth anything like the amount we paid for him
- Chalobah has been an OK loan but is suspect defensively (or perhaps just naive).
The deal was £5m plus £3m in add ons. The others had no offers and are under contract, Ayew was offered a 2 year deal, but turned it down as Leicester offered a 3 year deal on more money. Winning free kicks was his only asset, he had an appalling goal scoring record for forward.Silly comparison.
We didn't get 8m not sure why people keep repeating that figure it was 5m
5m is a good sum but look at what he contributed we retained those names you listed and what have they offered Ward 0 so far the other 2 have had bit of action but not much so would have been better off any of those people going over him.
He can change the game we have been poor at conceding towards the end this type of player can buy you fouls etc and move you up the pitch that way also show he can defend when need be (looks like Kamada was his replacement that is working out well isn't it)

A Leicester fan on the radio this morning claims fans arent impressed with him and think he shouldnt be a first team pick, but Cooper wanted him for experience, who has now been sacked, only playing because of injuries.
Incorrect
it was 5m total you need to stop listening to media made up stories.
Ayew was under contract still so Palace didn't need to do anything.
The others was out of contract so yes they was free agents should have let them go no point paying people who are not contributing.
Look at the stats his buying fouls is part of the game and important i guess salah is waste of time as well becuse he does same thing and people used to praise wilf for it.
Hes not a striker (his brothers the striker this ayew is more of a behind striker) and was always used more defensive way which he did very well.
At times not sure some of the people here even understand the game or watch the full games.
Look at what he has done since going and being used in attacking role.
yes fans lets listen to handful of them and only playing because of injuries yet vardy is only one who has scored more goals in the side plus that is not really his game.
Are you for real? Salah is the leading goal scorer in the Premier League 24/25! And has averaged over 30 goals per season for the last 7 Seasons…and is on track for another 30 (plus) this year! 🤔
2 of my friends are Leicester season ticket holders and they are not impressed at all, don't think he should be anywhere near the starting XI..!!The deal was £5m plus £3m in add ons. I read a story where he got caught shagging his teammate's wife. Could explain the face.2 of my friends are Leicester season ticket holders and they are not impressed at all, don't think he should be anywhere near the starting XI..!!
Not surprised as we sold him simply because he is not very good - 21 goals in 175 appearances for a forward player tells all you need to know..!!
Those suggesting we would be further up the table if we had kept him need to take their Ayew tinted glasses off..!!
I admit I'm not an Ayew fan - never was - always looked like he was never happy with life - not sure why..!!
IMO opinion we're better off without him, if nothing else I don't have to see/witness that surly face anymore..!!
