Why did we sell ayew??

So we are stuck with the same front 3 unless 1 of them gets injured or glasner changes formation to say a 442 but with 4 at the back Richards, Riad and trev dont get a look in?

idk
I'd bring in Trev this weekend.
Start Lerma with Wharton
Start Sarr instead of Nketiah (on the basis that we need JPM to hold up play)

Ayew in Leicester - 9 points

Joa in Fulham - 11 point

Weren't they just smart enough to leave.

Palace - 3 point

Back on topic. Yes I agree selling Ayew was gross stupidity. Although looking at comments on the BBS he was a load of crap apparently.

I wonder is there some formula ,to work out a player's worth.... something like..
Minutes played injury free.
.£1k per minute
Goals scored per season x £1m..
Frees won...£5k
Passes made .£2k
Etc ..
If there was a formula ,would a stats man be able to decide if £8m + wages ,was a good deal!!..
Maybe a stupid theory..I'm just wondering!

Not for the money they offered for an ageing player with a poor scoring record. But he’s not the first to struggle scoring goals for us and although I like the look of Nketiah, will he hit double figures this season and prove to be any better than Ayew?

Whilst Jordan grew into a solid player for us, it was time for him and Palace to amicably go in different directions. Pleased for him today to score the winner but I’m confident we made the right decision.

As for Joachim, he proved today why we also made the right decision as he was caught out for pace and positioning for his sending off!

Love them both as I did Wilf but we recouped 35-40M this year and nothing on Wilf. Lessons learnt!!

Bloody hell, how many times did he start for us during our unbelievable run at the end of last season? Did he start once?

Let's not rewrite history, it's Olise we miss, not Ayew. He was a good servant and I'm glad he's started well for Leicester but I wouldn't have him back even now.

Jordan Ayew was a great servant to Palace but I don't think a shinned shot which should have been saved by the Southampton keeper changes my mind that it was the right time for us to take some money for him and wish him well. I for one can't see how he would fit into our starting line-up, and his use as a sub this season might have been to help us hold on to a narrow lead, but sadly we haven't been in that position at all.

I havnt seen the red. But isint it a 3 match ban for violent conduct and 1 match ban for everything else for a red?

I see both sides on the wisdom of selling Ayew and Andersen, one take the money because the players are getting on a bit and two they are the sort of players that make us tick. The one thing that really pissed me off was that they were both sold unexpectedly on the eve of the West Ham game, which completely f***ed us up.

What was the point in selling Ayew for so little when he was doing a good job and to compound matters we got Kamada who is so off the pace I’d rather we didn’t have!

All our new signings have something to prove and I just hope they are not doing it in the Championship…..
