What’s a defunct shop or brand you miss the most?

Some on HOL might recall the 'Redifussion' and 'DER' television shops.
Those were the days of a circular or V-Shaped aerial perched on top of the Television set and on occasions one had to move them about for a better signal.

Before video recorders and sky boxes and all the other paraphernalia that goes under TV’s these days, when I was a kid the dog used to lay under the TV and we soon realised that when he did we got a better picture on our TV and we didn’t have to move the aerial around…..so we put his bed under there 🤣 those were the days!! 🤣

Our aerial had a clothes peg on it. No idea why but it must have done something. Hope so anyway.

🤣

It was quite amusing thinking back now what did the trick , a friend of ours had his aerial taped to his little toddlers walking frame, the poor little sod couldn’t toddle far from the TV but I’m assuming it worked 🤣

I recall the 'Television Repair Man' twiddling with dials at the back whilst he looked at the 'Test Card'.
