West Ham match thread

Strange that Edouard is starting over Kamada or Sarr.

All of a sudden the bench looks significantly weaker than last week.

More hope that expectation that we'll get anything today.
 
Will be very interested to see the formation we play. Surprised to see both Edouard & JPM start with Kamada & Sarr on the bench.

Where’s Hughes today?
 
Lerma offers more athleticism in the middle of the park and more pace, plus he's a salmon in the air. I'd have picked him over Hughes even if the latter had been fit. Eduoard is the odd one. He wasn't great when he went wide when Ayew came on last week. I do think he looks fitter and has been working harder, so hopefully he'll surprise us. I really hope Riad continues his preseason form and Guehi is inspired by getting the captain's armband.

A positive performance today is important whatever the result. I'd be happy with a well-earned point, but a win would shake off some of the gloom of the last week.

On each of the first two West Ham corners, Riad has abandoned Antonio at the far post. I don't know if he's deliberately trying to play him offsides but it looks dangerous.
