If you're going to have a war with Communism how else were Germany going to get to Russia?

The Soviets wanted to invade eastern Europe and to spread communism anyway and that's what they did with Poland (Hitler believed it was a them or us situation)....Germany made a pact to draw them in.

Of course I'm against the whole thing....thirty to forty million people died, it's insane. Hitler should have only have fought a defensive war, where he would have been backed....A world war between Fascism and Communism/Democracy might have never have happened.....but it did as Hitler had to have his war.

Regardless, if I'm forced to choose between Hitler or Stalin, who are both genocidal murderers, then I agree with Patton and side with defeating the communists.

If he had won then you wouldn't even have Russia today and the British wouldn't be projected to be a minority in our country by the 2060s.

Both were evil.....but winning saw our destruction once the silent generation died off.

The Russians see Ukrainians as the same people, the same language, the same origins, but who have become corrupted and weaponised by western interference.

Yes I do. I think Putin is perhaps the most genuine example of real leadership we have in the modern world. I actually watch his speeches and he constantly refers to the fact that Europeans are being effectively betrayed by their political elites who are deliberately pursuing policies that harm their own people.

I believe a Europe with more Putins at the helm would be a much better place than the one we currently have led by a political class who lack all conviction and who have clearly been bought and paid for, with notable exceptions, by people who have no interest in genuine Pan-European flourishing.

Putin is a dictator gangster. The suggestion that he cares about his people is laughable, it seems like you think his s*** doesn't stink.

He cares about himself, it just so happens that status quo on "culture" keeps him in charge, he doesn't want problems from immigrants and has been behind helping immigrants pour into Europe to destabilise us. It's a buffer zone between Russia and Nato.....They won't accept the rump state that will be Ukraine in Nato, and they will have preserved missile response times from Poland.

Russia's military is powerful but it's also battered and it'll take them a long time to recover parts of their economy......They won but it comes at considerable cost.

Well my view and I suspect that of Putin is that Nato wants the break up of Russia.

A Ukraine that is anti Russian would be a springboard for that.

It's been said many times, the US wouldn't allow its border countries of Canada or Mexico to be aligned against them.....What happened was totally predictable.

Nato has put nuclear capable missile launchers in Poland.....which is the closest to Moscow.....I don't know what the Russian leadership thinks but if I were them I wouldn't be just shrugging my shoulders at the prospect of Ukraine being aligned against them after the coup of 2014....Ukraine is too close.

Putin was very clear about it all back in 2008, he said it was a redline that they viewed as existential.
