You need to be careful with AI. Somebody in my locality did a spoof advert for a local unwanted housing estate that is being built. If you searched for the company’s development the spoof AI materialised, which wasn’t complimentary!

Putin was certainly interested in joining NATO at one point, and discussions took place.
It was European elements that prevented it going ahead.

Yes I do. I think Putin is perhaps the most genuine example of real leadership we have in the modern world. I actually watch his speeches and he constantly refers to the fact that Europeans are being effectively betrayed by their political elites who are deliberately pursuing policies that harm their own people.
I believe a Europe with more Putins at the helm would be a much better place than the one we currently have led by a political class who lack all conviction and who have clearly been bought and paid for, with notable exceptions, by people who have no interest in genuine Pan-European flourishing.

War is extremely damaging to economies and Russia is no different......suffering far less than Ukraine but it's true nevertheless.
I think the chance of peace has been possible all through the latter half of this year but Europe/Ukraine just haven't accepted Russia's demands.
How I see it progressing.....though obviously it's just my take.....Is that unless there is a peace deal Russia take the rest of the Donbas and other progress in territories by Spring next year and at some point will start to build a line that they are willing to hold.
So you will get a frozen conflict much like you have in Korea.....there will be a 'no man's land' and then two lines.
Frigging going back before 91.....a complete failure.
A failure that suits financial interests of everyone but Europe's taxpayers.

It's true, AI can get things wrong.
But that particular story (that Georgia basically started their war with Russia) is widely accepted at the time, was even on mainstream western news channels at the time, and was even the conclusion of a subsequent EU investigation.

If you're going to have a war with Communism how else were Germany going to get to Russia?
The Soviets wanted to invade eastern Europe and to spread communism anyway and that's what they did with Poland (Hitler believed it was a them or us situation)....Germany made a pact to draw them in.
Of course I'm against the whole thing....thirty to forty million people died, it's insane. Hitler should have only have fought a defensive war, where he would have been backed....A world war between Fascism and Communism/Democracy might have never have happened.....but it did as Hitler had to have his war.
Regardless, if I'm forced to choose between Hitler or Stalin, who are both genocidal murderers, then I agree with Patton and side with defeating the communists.
If he had won then you wouldn't even have Russia today and the British wouldn't be projected to be a minority in our country by the 2060s.
Both were evil.....but winning saw our destruction once the silent generation died off.

I refer back to WW2 because it directly relates to our lives and the future of the country today.
However, I'll just make the observation that comparing Hitler and Putin is pure media propaganda that's been pushed since 2022 and it's only been done to justify bad decisions and get you to look the other way.
I know I shouldn't have to repeat this because it should be obvious.
Russia and Ukraine have been at war for nearly four years. In that time Russia has taken under twenty five percent of Ukraine. All wars are terrible however the numbers dead make comparisons absurd.....it's a contained regional war.....like many others around the world.
Russia has suffered economically doing this and lost probably around about half a million men. The effect on Ukraine has been far worse....especially for its future....half its population has fecked off and it's going to get the third world, pride parades and trannied up.
Anyone who is serious and looks at what Russia is capable of, knows that while they are going to win in Ukraine, their ability to project power beyond that is limited due to many factors. I've repeated those factors so often on this and the previous thread that it's getting painful.
It's economic, it's military capacity, it's BRICS policy, it's NATO article five.
The key difference between WW2 and now is rather obvious.....and it's called nuclear weapons and means that those who are for escalation aren't helping anyone other than those making money from the war.
