If you check out youtube, and the like, you might see quite a few dashcam videos of (American) police officers getting hit by vehicles whilst doing their duty of a traffic stop. Some are an accidental vehicle manoeuvre, and others are deliberate.
In the split second the officer was hit by a car, he already knew that action was likely deliberate, with one of the women clearly shouting "drive". She was evading detention with a deadly weapon
How was he to know she wasn't going to slam into reverse, or was going to go on some vehicle rampage. ?

I suppose it comes down to training and experience, as to what the officer's response was going to be

Where's your evidence that I watch Tate? I have watched a bit but not for ages. And Watson says nothing, he just puts together videos that already exist. Talk about shooting the messenger.

You apply a whole lot of inference. What a tantrum, it's really why the term libtard was invented.

I don’t know your mind but if you really came to such a conclusion without any preconceptions then you must need to get your eyes tested. What you think you saw simply doesn’t exist.

I hope either the State or the family bring a prosecution so a jury can decide culpability. I also hope that the family’s silence isn’t bought by the administration, or one of their billionaire backers, offering compensation. I want to see that ordered, not offered.

The best defence I can see is for the officer to blame a lack of training for an ill considered response, thus shifting the blame to where it really belongs. He might avoid jail that way, if accompanied by sufficient remorse.
