US Politics

No, this isn't about attacking 'trans' people, most people know these types have always been there. Boy George was celebrated back in the eighties, as was Quentin Crisp.
I remember Crisp, quite well,.....While I'm obviously very different to him I liked quite a lot of Crisp's philosophy in life, which is why lots of modern day alphabet groups dislike him.
No, this is about forcing alphabet ideology onto young minds, some of whom are autistic and encouraging them to radically change their lives when they are at impressionable ages.
This is complete and utter garbage.

No responsible healthcare professional would ever force anything onto a young mind, especially one on the autism spectrum. They care, they investigate and they verify. Not alone but in teams comprised of various disciplines. They know full well that people can go through phases, can be influenced by others and can change their mind.

These ideas that there are nasty physicians, all holding leftish views, desperately seeking to mutilate children is just a fantasy of right wing prejudice.

Show the evidence of girls of 12 undergoing double mastectomies in the UK! Which is all I am discussing. Especially those related to gender affirmation. Most mastectomies are performed because of cancer concerns. It must be done very occasionally because of that but I strongly doubt it’s frequent and cannot, for obvious reasons, be initially considered at 6.

The point about 6 years comes solely from the fact that no surgery is permitted here before 18, so if a 12 year old is counselled for gender dysphoria then it will be 6 more years before surgery can be performed in any circumstances.

What happens in the USA isn’t known to me. If you want to know kindly research it yourself.
This is the US politics thread though !!!

They were as wrong as you are on this subject.
The initial approval of the drug was subsequently found to be a disastrous mistake. That though does not mean those prescribing it were wrong. They did so in good faith along with all the others.

As that’s a fact, and it’s what I have been saying all along, it also means I am not wrong. On this subject.

The research was done in America. This thread is entitled US Politics. Your subjective experience is irrelevant.
I know all of that and have already apologised if my comments weren’t recognised as applying only to the situation in the UK. Which is where we both live. I have no contribution to make on the situation in the USA, don’t know if it varies by state or anything about the claimed “research”, it’s authenticity or reliability. I only make comment on things I know something about.

My experience has not been mentioned in this exchange. I have described the law as I understand it. If you believe the law to be irrelevant so be it.

If you provide a link to the research you claim exists then I will take a look at it and may pass a comment on it.

They were still experts. Those in whom you demand everyone place complete faith on all occasions.

OK. Heres a link to the research I claim exists.

Of course they are, but no expert is an expert in everything. They too rely on specialists just as we all do.

My wife is an expert in treating eye conditions.

If she gets an infection she goes to see the GP. Just as you would.

An expert in producing medicine which doesn't have disastrous side effects doesn't have to be an expert in anything except producing medicine which doesn't have disastrous side effects.

Tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China.
President Trump is not messing about. He has already done more in two weeks than sleepy joe has done in 4 years. Or whoever was running the country in that time.

I have read the various reports on the claims made by the right wing think tank, “The Manhattan Institute”!

That’s not research. They are claims made by extrapolating data and spinning it to suit an agenda. It’s no better than what the Mail does, who unsurprisingly also reported this as though it is factual.

The clue can be found in the headline of this report from another right wing outlet with an agenda, Fox News. Note the use of “may”!

This isn’t research! At best it’s an analysis, but any analysis by someone with a preconceived position isn’t trustworthy.

It’s the actual research, if it exists, that needs to be examined and I don’t think it does. Extrapolating data from any data base produced for other reasons can be manipulated to provide the answer you seek.

Right wing bias just for a change.
Try these figures.

Can you explain, economically, why these are a good thing to a) the American population and b) the wider world. Thanks.
