He isn’t resigning. He has decided not to stand for reelection, thus not having to spend time campaigning, so he can concentrate, as Governor, on dealing with a complex fraud. His own statement:-

“Every minute I spend defending my own political interests would be a minute I can’t spend defending the people of Minnesota against the criminals who prey on our generosity and the cynics who prey on our differences,” Walz said. “So I’ve decided to step out of the race and let others worry about the election while I focus on the work.”

Are these the criminals who have been abusing the tax system under his democratic watch. Maybe he has seen how somalians have got millions of dollars by filling out a few forms. Scratch the surface and his mates probably signed some of these deals off.

My bad. I meant resigning from running or future office. Poor choice of words on my part.

Simpson's statement read, "I will pursue as my primary goal in life the killer or killers who slaughtered Nicole and Mr. Goldman. They are out there somewhere".

Just because someone makes a statement doesn't make it honest or accurate.

One of the main reasons he is not seeking re-election is that the Democratic Party pressured him to do so. They now see him as a liability. That's just politics, Republicans do the same thing. But to think he did this out of some sort of altruism or a a desire to work on ending the scandalous corruption is just plain silly and naive.

If anyone has acted corruptly then I trust they will be discovered and prosecuted, whoever they are.

Dont be daft. You haven’t watched the video have you. These $m grants for kiddie schools, nurseries and medical centres ain’t signed off at the low end of the state government. You need to watch to see it’s not prejudiced it’s common sense.
