US Politics

My take is that the EU's socially liberal leaders are terrified of Russia and know that Ukraine are losing badly and essentially look like they traded wealth for Trump to get tougher with Putin.

Honestly, I think that's part of it and while it makes no real difference to the result over there they do at least feel less like wetting the bed when Trump talks tough about Putin.

Which I predict we will start hearing.

I'm not sure if I heard correctly but trump said something about supporting NATO again and maybe increasing it's funding. Can't be sure tho I'll have to look back at all the videos I've watched to find it 😅

He was threatening to pull all funding not long ago so maybe it's part of the deal he got in return to fund NATO.

It wouldn't surprise me.

To my mind this just plays into how the ideology of our leaders and the EU's leaders is just woeful and wrong headed.

They have allowed themselves into the same group think positions that covid produced.

The upshot will be the same, significant wealth reduction for Europe in general.....less bad for us though.....well once the policy towards Russia changes anyway.

The elites themselves are never seriously affected so this is all party politics for them, as regardless of the outcome they never suffer negative consequences for fecking up....just rewards.

We need Russia's cheap gas and the US/Ukraine blew up the main pipeline.....Instead America's energy will be shipped in at much higher cost.

Neocons.

The price of meat has become ridiculous. Beef has gone up 30%. Probably due to the cost of feed rising because of Ukraine.
Cattle prices have become massive at the mart - I hear it all the time in the West of Ireland. There never seems to be any in depth analysis of why. I'd say it's a combination of things. I know Ireland is fined loads as a greenhouse gas emitter due to cows - so I believe stocks have been going down. I mean, why be able to feed ourselves? Food and farming have been under attack for years.

Yep, they have allowed this to go on because we are slaves to State department policy.

The elites have decided that us plebs will pay the higher costs and can be placated with 'Putin bad' as the justification.

The Democrats spent 2016 talking about 'misinformation' and then lying about Trump's connections to Russia.....and a certain poster on Hol spent a large number of posts being fooled by it......Now we are getting evidence showing that it was a intel lie started by the Democrats.

It should be remembered from clips like this that these lies were deliberately timed for Presidential election season......We see here Biden spreading misinformation during an election debate.

None of this stops until people are held to account and people need to go to jail for abuse of power and lying to the public.

Outright lying to the public has become the norm. It was probably the Covid season that exposed it to me. Now almost every politician is happy to lie, as long as any consequences are down the road.
I think in principle, stirling is right. People need to go to jail for this.
But UK jails are full of internet posters. Jail has become politicised. Except few politicians are actually in jail.

It is a sad reflection of the trust that Trump has destroyed but in today’s world you cannot rely on anyone. Making deals with Putin is as reliable as making a deal with a mafia boss and it’s nearly the same with the USA at the moment. We need to cooperate with local partners who share the same problems and require similar solutions. All need a multitude of options available to ensure security whilst maximising their own capacity. Nothing is cheap when it’s not available.

Great. A podcast by a well known right wing presenter of bias is held up as indicative of something! Stitching clips together, out of context, and then describing it as misinformation is laughable. It’s not. It’s politics.

The only ones being fooled are those who take this kind of garbage seriously. To continue to buy Trump’s lies about his connections to Russia just demonstrates how pervasive his anti truth tactics can be. It’s long been his way to tell Big Lies so often that they become accepted fact in some minds.

It will stop, but only when Trump gets removed. Whether he goes to jail is less important than that he gets removed.

Yeah that was the turning point for me. 2020 really changed my world views and how I see things.

You calling recorded evidence that they knew the connections between Trump and Russia were baseless was false but pursued it anyway is itself false? That the letter signed by over fifty ex intel agents, including ex heads was an unbiased, objective and not contrived and done for political reasons?

Not forgetting the claim that Russia won Trump the election? An absurd claim they went with that never had anything of significance. So are you claiming that the evidence for this being done to help Biden win elections is false?

The podcaster doesn't matter.....though don't worry son, I'm sure this particular one has editors and lawyers. What is important is the fact is that the director of intelligence has come out and stated this.

There will be prosecutions over this and people will answer for it.

Let it not be forgotten that you pushed all these lies for years on this forum.

EU admits it can’t fulfill $600 billion investment promise to the U.S. — just hours after making it

During trade talks, the EU pledged to invest $600 billion into the American economy. But as Politico reports, just a few hours later, Brussels admitted it doesn’t have the authority to make such a commitment.

Ironically, Hungary’s Viktor Orbán pointed this out earlier today.

The EU leadership is practically a clown show.

It's up to each country how they invest their money - past the minimum EU requirements, which are largely fixed, but are augmented by made up fines for farming wrong or not having enough electric cars or solar panels.

I think you might be getting even more confused and biased than normal. Which if I am your son is easy to understand as I am 81!

There was no letter from ex intel agents regarding Trump and Russia? Maybe you are thinking about the one that was sent suggesting the Biden laptop story had all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation. Which it did. That those hallmarks later turned out not to be accurate doesn’t mean they weren’t there!

On Trump’s connection to the clearly established Russian interference in the 2016 election I suggest you read this. Carefully and thoroughly. And then stop posting what Trump has brainwashed you into thinking:-
