UEFA Conference League Dynamo Kyiv v Palace Match Thread

I suspect, in a game like that (where we are winning and cruising). Making subs like Sarr, Devenny, Lerma make sense. They know the system inside and out.

Uche is probably the guy you bring on when you are chasing the game.

That aside, we are going to have to manage game time. Hopefully he'll get some time at the weekeend.
What does 'chasing the game mean'?

I thought it was some line -marking from the pitch?

COYP!!!

We were simply better than them weren't we. I think their first hit on target wasn't until the 85th min or something unless anyone can correct me on that.

I think there was an earlier comment that Pino had 'laid it on a plate' for Eddie but I don't quite agree because Eddie's run was late and beautifully timed, so there was work to do, wasn't there. Having written that, I agree in applauding Pino's assist; that drag-back and then delivery with the outside of his right foot was F****** sublime.

Eddie's pace is electric and he's beginning to look extremely lively all round: sharp and alert which is fantastic because then JP can rest a bit, which people have mentioned. How much better can it get? I'm a typical Palace fan, I think; I keep expecting it all to come crashing down. I mean, there's always a drama and just when we think everything's going swimmingly, it all goes tits up.

These are the best Times ever, whatever, and I'm friggin' loving it.

What a header from Munoz!

Never mind Max's white head-blob, My arm's red-raw from pinching myself.

Somebody stop me!

When I watched it back it reminded me of things he did in the showreel video we saw when he was signed. Watching in slow motion has confirmed that. He has a trick of deliberately playing the ball against the other foot so the defender is moving one way and the ball the other. In tight situations this will be a match winner for us.

I was very impressed by him last night. His work rate and willingness to defend makes him 100% a Glasner type which alongside this ability to make space and pick passes and the way he has effortlessly slotted into the group makes him seem our best signing in years. Which, given the competition, is quite something.

I think he prefers to be called Yeremy, and not Pino. That was on his shirt last night.

I listened on the Palace app. Bit sad they were just watching on the television and commentating from that from the Radio London studio.
Yes, I followed it that way, yes not a good way to commentate and it showed. No sense of atmosphere and lots of silent pauses. Oh well better than teletext I suppose.

Agree.

I also agree with the notion that Glasner will not just throw a player on for the sake of it and he (OG) wants the player to understand, adhere to and deliver his instructions/tactics.

Perhaps, as opposed to just being rated as 'not very good', Romain Esse has struggled to adopt Glasner's instruction? Uche may well fall into the same bracket, as could any other player, however let's hope not.

Might also be why many questioned Kamada's continued selection whilst not looking very good. OG was probably aware that soon enough he'd have a competent player on the pitch, capable of delivering what OG wished of him.

It looks to be about running back and defending. Kamada does this well as they all do. Eze lacked this a bit which may be why he isn’t being missed that much.

Comfortable win even when we went down to 10! What about the skill from Pino to fool the defender and laying it on a plate for Eddie? This bodes really well with Eddie chipping in with goals too, takes the pressure off JPM….
Agree- very comfortable against let's be honest a very average team.

Pino is improving every game and looks a very intelligent player.

Have to say the 2nd yellow was very harsh, slightly clumsy but no malice. Having said that there was no need to even make a challenge.

now remind me of the last time this territory saw an Austrian leader ? leading a team (with a very strong attack AND defence ) and all under the Eagle logo ? hmmm

can we explain to them that we were on their side , back in the day, well most of the time anyway.
My grandmother got a job in Vienna, directly after the capitulation of the Third Reich, which was provided by an Colonel of the British Army, as they settled in Vienna. Don't ask me about the circumstances, how thid was possible, but as far it concerns me, I am fine with that guys from GB 😂

How is it going as a totally new user of the site who never had an account before?

I really enjoy it here. This forum is the only way to get in touch with fans from England. I also watched Stoke city, as long as Marko Arnautovic was a player there. Back then I already wished, and I still do so, to once, or twice, or a hubdred times, I could ever witness a game in a stadium. But it would not be just because of players and or coaches from Austria. I could spot a big difference in the kind of way of communicating and kind of respect in the way of talk between english and german/austrian Fans. Here, there is no envy. Thats what I enjoy the most. So, to make it short: Schnitzel came to stay. THE Schnitzel.

I believe it was Mourinho who said he was a fantastic person with an attitude of a child !
Mark Hughes signed him for Stoke.
