I cannot access that website, whichever browser I use or via VPN. Access being denied. Finding anything about the organisation behind it, the “Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund” (LELDF) proved difficult to find. It’s not any kind of official one though, being run by an ex Deputy Police Commissioner, Jason C. Johnson who seems to have a particular chip on his shoulder about gun control and the need for longer sentences for criminals.

So without being able to read the allegations I cannot comment other than to say the summary I read doesn’t suggest there is anything of substance to them.

A Deputy Police Commissioner who wants longer sentences for criminal? Good Heavens. What a remarkable thing.

He doesn’t want any kind of gun control but does want to lock people up for longer. This being specifically in the context of justice in the USA. I would argue that’s the responsibility of politicians and not the police. Now he is a private citizen he is as entitled to express his views as anyone else but no more.

I would argue that policemen generally take a dim view of criminals and consequently wanting them out of circulation for as long a possible doesn't seem unreasonable.

I would argue that policemen generally take a dim view of criminals and consequently wanting them out of circulation for as long a possible doesn't seem unreasonable.

Like kneeling on their neck until they die, or just shooting them? That way they are permanently out of circulation!
