Of course it isn’t!So TR is on trial for an offence under the Terrorism Act, for not letting police unlock his mobile phone while legitimately and legally using the Channel Tunnel in July 2024

Tommy Robinson refused to give police phone Pin to protect 'journalistic material'
The far-right activist was charged under the Terrorism Act over an incident at the Channel Tunnel in July 2024.www.bbc.co.uk
So I was wondering in which thread to post, because this yet another totally obvious example of the politicising of the UK police. The officer knew it was Tommy Robinson he was stopping, for some blah blah reason. The officer had no reason to want access to TRs phone, yet he requested the PIN. when TR refused, BANG, you're on a Terrorism charge.
I've made mind up already, especially after the tube fiasco and the fella on the floor.
It'll be interesting to see how the judge rules on this.
The guy has previous. Any police officer seeing him anywhere doing anything would immediately be suspicious. Just as I would be. If he asked to see his phone, and it was refused, those suspicions would increase. Being on route to, or from, France could, depending on the circumstances, raise questions about terrorism.
If he had nothing to hide why refuse? I have never been asked to show my phone but would in an instant. It’s only people like him who get asked. I would abandon the need to invoke terrorism suspicion and make it compulsory to release your PIN if requested by an officer of the law. Only criminals need to fear that.
Now it will be up to a Court to decide if the request was lawful. So his defence will be heard.
