Time to start doing Business Steve..!!

Us and Liverpool could quite easily agree a deal over the next 48 hours. We then start the season away at Chelsea with Lerma in defence and a 34 year old RB as cover. Its unacceptable and indefensible.
Regardless of circumstance, I do find this impossible to defend, particularly in the knowledge that we will play considerably more games than normal this season.

People need to stop repeating this excuse.

Future earnings if you win only so they are not relevant.

SP himself came out with before hand that they had list of targets already and plan out way in advance even back to when DF was still at the club.

Look at history we wait until towards the end that is how we operate.

Guehi has to go we can allow him to stay even if we only get 20-30m that would go towards replacement compared to 0 (He is one man it's about the team/club and he has shown no interest in renewing)

Eze appears happy at Palace and unless official bids come in for him I can't see an issue.

Edouard is done at this club has to go it's tough to find a place take him and the ones rumored to want him he has no interest to go to so may end up another player who sits around doing nothing leaves only when contract expires end of this season.

DF has still not been replaced what is going on with that?
Ring Steve and ask him

Spot on. Really we shouldn't even think about letting Guehi leave until after the Chelsea game now, with the intention of having a replacement in before Forest. We have needed another centre back since Chalobah went back to Chelsea. Riad is injured and out for awhile and Clyne should be a last resort. Lerma should be be as a centre back unless its urgent

Our squad is already thin with injuries, a couple more and we have written the start of the season off again.

Why is it so easy to do a deal?

Parish has pretty much made us look desperate to sell, Liverpool hold all the cards, he wants to go to Liverpool, he will more than likely sign for them regardless, but a club the size of Liverpool, is it worth the risk letting other clubs talk to him in 6 months for the sake of 30 mill ??

I think Guehi holds all the cards TBH

We are desperate.

We keep allowing too many people to go for free and for a club like us that is not sustainable.

Remember Chelsea are due around 25% as well sell on fee.

He could sign for abroad team Jan for free so we have to sell now Guehi has shown he wont renew even for 1 year.

It's all in Guehi hands no one else can force anything

Speculation again, Its mention that if Chelsea match any bid, they have first choice if they want him and he wants to go, and 20% is also mentioned, but never let the truth ruin your assumptions

Dear Eglecoops,
Thank you for your kind words, hindsight has nothing to do with this matter it is called common-sense. The facts are simple:-
Surprised you have not had any blowback on this (and it probably belongs in another thread) but well said. The follow-up lashing out at UEFA was just childish. Parish screwed up and appears to be taking no responsibility

In good news, we continue to sign players for the Women's team
If Edouard goes to Nice, he can keep us updated on the Europa Cup. presumably from the bench or stands
The 'basket-case' of the transfer window, Newcastle, are on the verge of having spent 50x what we have this window
Sacking the goalkeeping coach for some obscure reason and failing to replace the DOF does not seem to have worked
Time to end the contracts of a tea-lady or two

Is that 25% of any fee received or 25% of any profit on initial purchase price. Could you confirm as bit of a grey area.

Not really, if Liverpool have a bid accepted, he would be pretty stupid to turn them down.
Why? He would get more as a free agent with a signing on fee. Players only think of themselves, not the club. If Liverpool won't wait, he will have many top clubs after him next summer.

They're arguably the best team in the world at the moment, he would get a lot more as a free agent, he could also go and do his acl. Any player not jumping at the chance to sign for this current Liverpool team would be crazy in my opinion.

I would hope that we have a one in and one out policy, we must have targets if a player leaves. I trust our recruitment team to find suitable replacements, just sit back and enjoy the ride, these times don't come around often.

I think it normally relates to the sell on fee!
I brought this up yesterday and according to runningman dreamwaverider madcap-v2 dogburger chris123
Charle b samprior it only applies to the profit we make on him and not the sell on fee.

On the DOF front: We had Iain Moody on a contract doing a lot of the work alongside Dougie and i'm going to assume he is managing (temporarily or otherwise) things now Dougie has departed.

I'm disappointed about Dean Kiely leaving as he seemed to have a great goalkeeping unit that he built and maintained but after 7 years it's a chance for Jules Speroni to step up. I hope and am sure Dean will be fine too and in demand given the quality of our goalkeeping unit during his time at Palace.

As for the tea ladies, let's hope Palace aren't following the Man Utd model!!!
