Time to start doing Business Steve..!!

Steve Parish is the best and most important part of what Palace is now, He saved them from going out of business, with 3 associates, and all though well paid, has delivered, now 13 seasons of football in the hardest league in the world on a virtual shoestring, compared to other clubs finances, with a current squad worth 456m Euros, 200m more than 3 years ago, the current wage bill is 68m, over 20m down from 3 years ago, he is a class act as a businessman.
Oliver Glasner is a decent manager, no more, Coppell is the best we have ever had, yes, i know we won the F.A cup, which is obviously fantastic, but we were very unlucky in 1990 and 2016, we had all the luck against City, which is great, but at the end of the day, Parish will do what he thinks is best for Palace, not for Glasner, and I, for one, am completely happy he is in charge of our club, if Glasner thinks the club is not being run properly or he is to good for Palace, he can do one.

We've had 3 months to sort out these issues and the solution is loans ? That's not a solution thats just masking over the cracks and leaving it for another day, we also need competition, not cover, Mitchell has walked into the team for the last 3 years, I belive to his detriment, competition would have improved him as a player.
Nketiah wasn’t injured 3 months ago was he ?

We spent £25m on him. I don’t think we will spend similar to that while he’s still on the books - potentially that’s why we didn’t match Villas for Guessand.

The Loan Market is there to be used so why not take advantage of it - other clubs do, even the ‘ top ‘ clubs .

Have you ever had a good thing to say about the way the club is run ?

Granted. Things are looking better than 2010, certainly. He has the best first 11 and best manager since then. Coppell and the final that could and should have been was 35 years ago, history. What is important today is where Parish sees it going from here on in, particularly after finally having actually won something. Hopes have been raised, will Palace climb another rung in the Premiership ladder or will the steady improvement since 2010 be frittered away? We have to wait and see.

The loan market should be used as a last resort, your back up keeper gets injured in pre season, go get one on loan.
Im not expecting to spend 25 million on a replacement for a player who's out for 6 weeks, but we need to strengthen and we need competition. I remember last season, forest started a game with Hudson odi and elanga on the bench and they were going for top 4, the only position we have genuine competition is central midfield, every other player walks into the team.

I've said plenty of good things about the club, but we can also criticise, the window, the stand redevelopment, the Europa league debacle. All fair criticisms. Plus it's a forum to discuss the club. The seasons not started yet so not really much else to discuss.

Window not yet shut is it

I’ve never known you say anything positive about the club and to be frank I value your opinions as highly as you value mine

For me this isn't about whether Parish is a good chairman or Glasner is a good manager.

It's about whether we have a squad capable of competing in , as Glasner, said four competitions this season; of potentially facing 6 games in the next 4 weeks.

As far as I'm concerned we haven't.
I can't pretend to know why this is the case, why we haven't done more.

That observation can be made without criticising Parish or Glasner.

I am concerned about current front 3 options if they
are unavailable for any reason or need resting during games.
Using Devenny or Kamada in the front 3, as we did on occasions last season, won't get us relegated, but it won't get us challenging seriously in competitions either.
They are both good players, but are out of position when pushed further forward.

Finally, it was clear from the press conference that the injured players have barely been involved in pre season training.
In other words it's not news, which makes it even more of a mystery why we haven't acted sooner.

That being said it's now in the past, and if we keep the existing team and get a few strong additions, I'll be looking for another positive season.

Well said, but you know that's not enough for some. They appear envious of his wage and money he has made from the club, despite the fact he was a successful businessman before he took over at Palace and would more than likely made just as much, if he continued his previous business.
He is the best thing to happen to Palace, since the arrival of Coppell, he isn't perfect and makes some mistakes, but the good he has done, far outweighs any negatives.

I cant believe we have all this negativity before the window has closed, after that yes, Glasner has no input into the finances of the club, it doesn't matter what he wants, is what is available and when, if the window closes and nobody has arrived or even worse players have left, then is the time for answers

If it didn’t matter what Glasner wanted, we wouldn’t have Lacroix, as Glasner was instrumental in him signing.

I don’t feel negative about the season at all.

I feel we could have been better prepared for this season, but that is just an observation that of course people are free to, and will, disagree with.

Go back and read my posts then, I've said parish is the best thats ever happened to this club, there's no other person I'd want as chairman, just discussing whether our transfer window so far has been good enough, it hasn't, you can use little buzzwords like articulate, as if your opinion is far superior to others. I could give you numerous reasons why we lose games, it doesn't matter, all that matters is the result.
