Parish is a top man and bleeds red & blue blood.
Those questioning his business plan just need remind themselves of the mess we were in before he took over.
Does it not make sense to wait a few more days to see the outcome of the UEFA ruling - then add further players accordingly depending where we are playing? There may also be a couple of potential players waiting to see which cup we will be playing in?
It's possible to think Parish has been an excellent chairman (as I do) but still be concerned about the window.
It's not unlikely that we will face the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea in the early weeks with an Edouard, Ahamada or JRS on the bench - all players we're trying to offload.
The club may take the view to retain them until last minute deals can be done at the end of the window - both incoming and outgoing.
Hence Glasner's reference to a possible slow start if we didn't get business done early; a perfectly reasonable point in my view.
With Nketiah's injury, if Mateta is substituted on 65 mins in Nketiah's absence the options would be either switch Sarr to the middle and push Kamada/ Devenny further forward or use Edouard, Esse or JRS.
I just don't see these as great options to score goals and win games.
I may well be looking at this in simplistic terms , but we got Benitez and Sosa done early. No hanging around for them looking at other options.
If we are looking at a deal for a player in e.g June and that player says (quite reasonably) that he wants to consider his options and wait until the last minute, you move on to another target who is willing to commit early (as Benitez and Sosa have done).
If we retain our best players It's not as if we'll be shopping at Harrods.
We'll be looking a level below for better options than the likes of JRS , Edouard and Ahamada.
We will need a stronger bench than currently available with the inevitable rotation and possible injuries/unavailability.
