The Prem Relegation Dogfight

Even other premier league sides of old were in the championship relegation battle today. Goes to show we shouldn't take out premier league position for granted.

I personally am a little bit sad that all the promoted teams go back to relegation more or less instantly. Just shows that money rules the league and nothing else. We may not be concerned, but sad anyway.

With a 100 million and 25 million for 3 seasons unless promoted again.

With respect, they were only victorious 4 times in the PL and are currently 14 pts behind the team ahead of them in the table.

It will be interesting to see how Leeds & Burnley (& maybe Sheff Utd) approach life in the PL next season & if it will be any different from when they last came up.

It reminds me of our old manager , Malcolm Allison.
He promised to take us out of the Championship equivalent.
He kept his promise..... but sadly we were relegated rather than promoted!

Only the force of nature that was big mal could’ve got away with that. Strange how everyone still loved him , amazing what a bit of charisma can do…..and a good cup run I suppose 😎

The promoted teams were so poor that If we hadn’t still been in the cup our season would effectively have been over before the end of Feb. That’s not great really, nice though it is to not have relegation worries.

Yes, but they clearly never gave up and were in all of their games until the end. They'll be coming back up with that attitude - in my opinion.
