The Politics of 'Climate-change'

Have you ever thought of the political system,..."they're treating me like a c-unit" ?

"A new four-lane highway cutting through tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rainforest is being built for the COP30 climate summit in the Brazilian city of Belém.
It aims to ease traffic to the city, which will host more than 50,000 people - including world leaders - at the conference in November.
The state government touts the highway's "sustainable" credentials, but some locals and conservationists are outraged at the environmental impact.
The Amazon plays a vital role in absorbing carbon for the world and providing biodiversity, and many say this deforestation contradicts the very purpose of a climate summit." (12.3.25 BBC website)

So all the delegates and friends are going to fly to Brazil, First Class, staying in 5 star hotel with food imported from all over the world, then drive their 4x4's on the new motorway in the Rain Forest, to talk a bit about climate change.

And then force their policies of high prices and hair shirts on the rest of us.

hair shirts for thee, not for me. Its easy to identify a ton of celebs who bang on about climate change. And yet they drive a fancy car, or an old smoky car , or have a whole garage filled with cars. Meanwhile they tell the rest of us to fight our way onto the packed trains at East Croydon.

Do you think they'll have electrical charging points for the electric vehicles that are going to use the motorway ?

You just could not make this s**t up!!!!!

You can and many are.

It’s an easy target. Even I could hit a bull if it was 3 feet across.

The Brazilians are cutting lumber from the Amazon every day, whether in a line towards a city so a road can be built or to clear land for agriculture doesn’t change that. If building the road ultimately improves efficiency then the cost/benefit balance is positive.

International action is needed to deal with this crisis. Communication between countries happens every day, involving data sharing, strategy evaluation etc. Mostly it’s done remotely but sometimes it’s still necessary and more effective for people to come together, form bonds, hear the words and feel the passion. Humans get inspiration from contact with other humans. Not so from machines.

That cannot be done without using resources. No pain, no gain.

And this COP is bound to achieve more than the previous 29. Humans were expected to get inspiration from machines during Covid so why not now.

COP has been hijacked by the carbon boys and has been for years. What better way of destroying it than cuckooing their way in and making it their own. Governments should be calling it out and boycotting it but they are busy lining their pockets.

Jeez, you actually believe this s***? Are you aware that the oil delegates outnumber the climate delegates at these events and it's known as the best place to make new deals for oil contracts?

We're f***ed, without question mother nature will have her way.

As long as Greta smiles, I'm happy.

I don’t think your first statement is true, but there are certainly a lot. There are two schools of thought. The first being they ought not be accredited at all. The second is that as the reality is that we will be continuing to use fossil fuels for a while yet keeping them in the loop makes sense. Keeping them as clean as possible and hearing their positions at first hand is wiser than treating them as enemies.

I tend towards the first position, but so far anyway the second is winning.

We’re not yet f****ed but we will be if we don’t grow some soon.

Sorry it's been the case for years, they hijacked their biggest threat. Why do you think that the last few years it's been held in oil states with oil people as chair?

Fossil fuel-linked lobbyists outnumber delegations of almost every country at climate talks in Baku, analysis finds

No, we're f***ed, I don't think you get that this s*** is ploughing forward, not stopping let alone reversing

That there are more fossil fuel linked delegates than those sent by most countries is true, but not that they outnumber the total! For sure the companies involved want to maximise their profits which is why it’s wise to make sure clean energy is profitable and dirty isn’t. They need to hear this.

I get the stupidity being shown by some is dragging us backwards but I am not without hope. Nor will I ever just give up! It could get a lot worse before it gets better and I won’t live to see it, but there are very good reasons why I care a lot.

If the guy posting this is genuine, it's certainly an interesting, if not surprising, revelation.

It wouldn't surprise me.

The hard left tried to take over Labour and are still trying.

They always had the Communist Party of GB (now irrelevant) have always had the Socialist Workers Party and Stop The War and ANTIFA but they will jump on any bandwagon.

It's Wack A Mole.

They know that people in the UK will not vote for extremists so they have looked for policies that they think the general public care about e.g. Green issues. Most of the hard core activists are watermelons Green on the outside red on the inside.

BoIIox did they torch Tesla's. That wouldn't be necessary, as the things catch fire by themselves.
