No planes will fly to or from Heathrow Airport on Friday after the airport was shut due to a fire at a nearby substation. Passengers have been warned to stay away, with disruption likely to last for days.

Well spotted Cryst. Unfortunately this comes as no surprise as it's probably a drop in the Ocean as far as figure-fudging goes.
All those tyres probably escaped diligence and environmental checks, because I reckon they were labelled as an "Aid Package". Bhopal, all over again. Put all the sheit where people are desperate.

Just Stop Oil have announced they have quit.

However before we all start cheering I suspect that this is yet another tactic. I read that JSO was a break away from another militant organisation (can't remember) and I think the same thing is happening again.

They realise that their brand is tarnished so will no doubt re-group under a new banner and start the protests again.

Already there is a group called Youth Demand which is threatening to close London down in April.

They've said they will end direct action as the primary policy they were protesting for has been achieved; no new licenses for oil and gas exploration.

A successful protest movement.

initial demand was to end new oil and gas, which is now a government policy. The campaign group claimed it has kept more 4.4 billion barrels of oil in the ground, and the courts have ruled new oil and gas licences unlawful.

I am not quite sure about that but as long as it's over.

I prefer protest including the nutters compared to what is going on in the world at present.

And look at the chaos they caused with their soapy attitude. Highest energy bills and no new nuclear power plants. France and Europe didn’t listen and are a lot better off.
