The Politics of 'Climate-change'

OK, if aeroplanes don't make a negative contribution to climate change there's nothing to see here.
Maybe one of these experts will be as effective as Thomas Midgley.
Who suggested they didn’t? Lots of things do and working to eliminate, or minimise, their impact is what we, collectively, are doing. Meanwhile life goes on.

It’s ensuring we all support these efforts, and not dismiss them in the way some do, which is the subject and the only thing of importantance. Not the individual contributions or the cynical comments of a pedant.

Well they have added more routes there from my local airport 🙄

Aer lingus have also announced new routes there.
Aer Lingus have had a daily flight from Newquay to and from Dublin for some years too. It offers the possibility of flying from Dublin to the USA thus cutting out the need to travel to London and fly a greater distance.

Pointing out the incompatibility of having a net zero target whilst approving thousands of extra flights is hardly pedantry but since it's not a conspiracy theory or from the Daily Mail you can fall back on that accusation from your grab bag of get out clauses.

If it’s not incompatible it is?

Who is to determine that? Someone posting on a football website or those paid to study it?

In any transition there are likely to be steps backward as well as forward. We need to maintain life and expectations as best we can and take everybody with us or risk them turning against the whole process. The risk of that is clearly evident right now.

The important thing is that the target and direction is clear. Not nit picking over details. Only if we fail to find the way to make air travel cleaner will reducing it become an imperative.

Twisting yourself into a pretzel in an attempt to justify your omniscience is all very well but this makes no sense at all.

I got an email there saying southern railway have increased fares 4.6 percent.

Also looks like tube fares are going up too

Soon it will be cheaper and more convenient to pay the ULEZ fine that get a train....

The vast majority of the planet do nothing to actively support climate change control.
