The Politics of 'Climate-change'

Another reason (amongst many) that you get different scientific opinions on Climate change, is that most scientists have a paymaster.
e.g. Look at some of the 5hlt Chris Whitty was spouting during Covid, purely because HMG was paying his wages. And a nice little Knighthood, to boot.
so often its all about the money. Give me a million quid and i would go on telly and declare Sadiq Khan to be a really nice bloke who supports Palace , he is only occasionally misunderstood.

so you are happy to believe a television company on Climate change ? a tv company that lies, spins, propaganda-ises and bv.llsh1ts us all the time.

But, they must be telling us the truth on Climate change ?
If such a television company existed and they were the only source, of course I wouldn’t.

As there isn’t and there are so many sources which reach the same conclusions, I don’t.

Those who deny climate change are either not thinking straight, are lying to themselves or have a bizarre political motivation.

You don’t though get different scientific opinions! Not from the real scientists. Only from the pseudo scientists and those working for businesses who pay them huge sums to lie. Just as the tobacco companies once did.

If there is any corruption that’s where to look.

Chris Whitty did a wonderful job during Covid. He advised Government, and us, calmly and factually. The idea that he said what he did because of politics is as nonsensical here as the attacks on Fauci are in the USA. They disgust me.

Even when it's become clear that we've been lied to you've excused those in power because they were looking after our best interests all along.

People that talk bs tend to get dropped.

David Attenborough doesn’t so he hasn’t been.

As he is now 98 Attenborough could have enjoyed a well earned cosy retirement for the last 33 years. He hasn’t. So why? It can only be because he cares passionately about the planet and us. Not because he wants or needs more money.
Maybe he was bored in his well earned retirement

Maybe he was bored in his well earned retirement
we must trust David Attenborough ?

is that the same David Attenborough ? he who was boss of the BBC while Jimmy Savile was running around causing merry hell ? well if David was ignorant of all the rumours then he is just plain ignorant ?

Not the I loved "Grapple my Grape nuts" David Bellamy as a kid I trust all he says, There are so many articles debunking his points.

He’s not a climate change denier, he’s saying it’s not mans fault it’s been going on thousands of years in the earths life. And he’s been proven right

And another thing that has been going on for thousands of years ? The Elites trying to control the plebs with a few fairy-tales and superstitious scare-stories.

the Pharoahs of ancient Egypt
Inca, Aztec, Maya sacrificing enemies heads on the high Altar

Shinto Priests blessing kamakaze pilots in 1945
the BBC & 10 Downing Street ?

As we choose our politicians there is much we can do about it.

We need campaigners like Putnam to make the case.

We need to defeat those who argue that profit now is more important than life tomorrow.

I guess that things will have to get a great deal worse before there’s any real prospect of them getting better. That’s not to say that the science we need to overcome the issues cannot continue. Only that it won’t be implemented on a large enough scale.

I suspect mankind will face a huge catastrophe in the next 100 years, with enormous losses of life and the breakdown of the current global order. Whether we survive as a species is questionable but if we do it will be in a changed way to that we have today.

Who do you suggest we vote for in China and India?
Meanwhile we'll keep on paying the green taxes hoping to cut down our 1% contribution to the problem.

China and India will be as impacted by a failure to react as anyone else. Neither are stupid. China is already, by far, the largest producer of electric vehicles in the world.

They will react because they have no choice other than to. When they do it will be very fast and effective. I wish it was happening now, but we cannot as individuals influence that. We can only, via our politicians and the international bodies they participate in, keep up the pressure.

Our position is an opportunity to demonstrate how things can be done and to develop, and export, the technology and methods that achieve it.

Shrugging our shoulders, turning aside and passing the buck to others are the reactions of the selfish and the despondent.

Hancock's quite about "scaring the pants off" everybody over Covid was a lie which you excused as expedient. We were also lied to about the efficacy of inoculation. But you excused that too.
Neither were lies.

Overemphasising a point is not a lie. It’s a tactic to stop complacency and get compliance. Every manager will do this from time to time.

Saying anything to the best of your knowledge that subsequently requires modification because of new knowledge, or changed circumstances, is telling the truth. As you know it at the time.

They’re not excuses. They’re the truth.

So what? Is selfishness a crime? If you want to pay for others to have a heat pump installed on their property then feel free if you think it will help demonstrate our dedication to saving the planet.

They lied. Plain and simple. The fact that you can't see it explains a lot about your reaction to everything.

No he hasn’t. He was as confused as you and many others are over this subject.m

Nobody has ever suggested that natural climate change doesn’t happen and has always happened. It is happening now, even if we cannot detect it.

Natural climate change takes thousands of years for its impacts to manifest themselves. It happens so slowly that nobody at the time would notice anything. Populations would gradually move or adapt. Only we can tell this by observing the geological record left behind. We know that ice once covered the uk because we can see the glacial valleys. We know other animals roamed because we can find their fossils.

Man made climate change is very different. It’s happening at pace. It started during the Industrial Revolution and has increased as the whole world industrialised.

You need to separate the two.

You come across very pompous !
Opinions don’t count unless they’re yours because it’s still a guess on the effect man is having compared to nature on the climate. A volcano erupted the other day which put multiple x man’s output in the atmosphere. Alongside dying organic matter and everything letting off gas.
All bollox !

They lied. Plain and simple. The fact that you can't see it explains a lot about your reaction to everything.
The fact that you regard them as lies explains everything about your reaction to this and many subjects.

The purpose of a lie is to deceive.

When the purpose is to motivate positive action it’s not a lie. It’s the deliberate use of language intended to do good. It’s done every day, within our families and especially with children.

When you say anything that is thought to be true when you say it, that is not, and never will be a lie. Truth can sometimes require updating. That’s a normal part of life.

Pure doublespeak. This insistence on defending the official line serves no purpose other than to protect your own ego and inability to admit being wrong. Remember when you tried to pretend the virus didn't originate in the Wuhan lab because it didn't fit with the official line?

You probably perceive me as pompous because you know I am right and find it so difficult to accept you must insult me. That’s fine. I really don’t care but if my tone does come over that way to others I apologise.

There’s no guesswork involved these days. The computer modelling is now very well advanced even if the outcomes are not precisely predictable. Which is why they are expressed as ranges. The climate change we are witnessing is all man made.

Volcanoes erupting will happen. They might have short or long term impacts. As with even today’s technology we don’t know when they will occur we just have to cope when that happens.

That though has nothing to do with climate change. It’s a separate issue.
