Trump's popularity is based on him openly despising politicians and the joy his voters got in flipping up a middle finger to the political elite. His issue was that he thought he was the message himself and that he had the same cult following mandate that Obama did and it just isn't true as significant portion of Republicans were just not going to blindly back Trump candidates who had massive issues just because he backed them. Trump works as an individual candidate as long as he is the lesser of two evils, he doesn't work as an advocate because he has to make it about himself.

The reason for going after Iran is tied to Iranian activities over the last 47 years that have resulted in the deaths of thousands of Americans as well as hundreds of thousands of people across the Middle East. If Iran is neutered to the point where its proxies cannot cause issues beyond their borders, then I'm all for it.

Your issues are your Prime Minister's issues, not the American President's concerns. If you want to become the 51st state then you can put in an application and if accepted, then it becomes an American issue.

Agree, sticking it to the politcal elite and winding up lefties/wokeys was a key attraction of Trump.

Wouid be nice if someone. come in now who carried that on, but actually works on making the lives of ordinary working people better.

I never said it was the cause of the initial increase, but it the cause of the current high levels, all else being equal war stops = inflation drops.

Your graph shows that rates were falling before trump launched the strikes. It plateaus at the point you cut it off and then i assume would show a further rise.

its probably a good time for Trump to resign and give the reins of power to JD Vance. Give Vance a settling in period to look Presidential. Then Vance will win the forthcoming Presidential election. If Trump gets thick and refuses to budge, it will all end in tears. .....Another Kamala/Biden into the Oval office.

Iran is a regional problem and has been since 1979. Them killing and supporting the killing of Israelis and Americans are both a cause to go to war. Human beings don't actually go to war for human rights because the people who declare that they care about them prefer virtue signaling over actually doing anything. The same crowd also isn't doing anything real about climate change either but they still want to rant about it.

Agree on WWII. Hitler could not be stopped. He had absolute power and was absolutely barking. And appeasement by us would have only bought a little time; and the UK would have ended up even worse off than we did.
