Agree, sticking it to the politcal elite and winding up lefties/wokeys was a key attraction of Trump.

Wouid be nice if someone. come in now who carried that on, but actually works on making the lives of ordinary working people better.

No need for your sarky last paragraph, it's the US people who voted him in who are also suffering economically.

I never said it was the cause of the initial increase, but it the cause of the current high levels, all else being equal war stops = inflation drops.

Your graph shows that rates were falling before trump launched the strikes. It plateaus at the point you cut it off and then i assume would show a further rise.

The Iranians have been belligerent ever since the 1979 islamic revolution.

It might do, but oil price is one factor of many when the BofE consider the base rate.

i said Christianity puts a high value on celibacy.....including for adults of all ages. And christianity's eschewing of violence is well understood.

its probably a good time for Trump to resign and give the reins of power to JD Vance. Give Vance a settling in period to look Presidential. Then Vance will win the forthcoming Presidential election. If Trump gets thick and refuses to budge, it will all end in tears. .....Another Kamala/Biden into the Oval office.

That is unnecessarily rude, especially given we have had convivial interactions up to now and I find a lot of what you post interesting

WW2 was another war that could have been de-escalated and has irreparably damaged us, but thats another debate.

Iran human rights record is terrible, but so is much of the middle east, africa and asia. But that's their problem to fix, we have enough issues in europe without attempting to fix the world - and poor human rights is most certainly not a reason to go to war.

Anyway back to my mortgage woes and how im going to deal with forking out £500 a month extra, might have to sell one of the jags or downgrade my seychelles holiday for a couple of weeks in Beni 🤣
