I bet the IRA and other organisations have been paid for 'access' in the past. It's an indication of how low the BBC has sunk in people's estimations, that stuff like this doesn't even surprise people any more.

Apparently the BBC has cancelled the Masterchef Christmas special because of the scandal regarding Gregg Wallace. This comes hot on the heels of the Doctor Who Christmas special being cancelled as the current doctor is about to jump before he and the show are cancelled.

At this rate the BBC Christmas schedule will be nothing but repeats, oh wait, so business as usual then.

BBC hires 'Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging' on £125k salary

The Corporation is offering the salary for a Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging who will be in charge of creating 'an inclusive workplace culture where everyone feels they can belong'.

'Diversity and inclusion should already be embedded through the BBC and supported by the HR department. These grossly overpaid roles need to be scrapped.'

I have argued the above statement many times. There is no need to have dedicated staff for this role. It's HR's job to train management at all levels to ensure that a culture of fairness is embedded in the organisation rather than silo-ed.

Choose One, and reject the other. And for a second, just imagine a football team not being a meritocracy ? they would make Charlton look like Real Madrid. They would make Colonel Ghadaffi's team of his cousins, uncles & fat buddies look like Bayern Munich.

You will notice the anachronism instantly with a football team. But it is invisible with a broadcaster cos 'who sees all the financial slack and the low standards ?'

i would broadly agree with the sentiments of MLK here. A footballer is judged by performance, not skin colour or other identity stuff. Thinking about the BBC , and generally. It is easy to transparently get fairness with sport. Much more difficult when it comes to choosing singers, artists, tv chefs, pundits, presenters, actors, and writers. Name me some BBC celebrity Conservative men ? straight white brits ? not many, are there ?
