From Crystal Skull to Crystal Palace. We need Indiana Jones.

The historic proof is specious for 1861.
However it was definitely earlier than 1905.
The FA refused to let us form as we played from the (then) national stadium. Complete bollox reason but they thought differently in the Victorian era.
Perhaps. Queens Park play from Hamden.it would be the same today if a club were based at Wembley
I remember that ... hard to believe it was real, but yes, it was:There was that season the label in the replica shirts spelt our name wrong.
I think that was for tax efficiency reasons 😀
never liked that club badge…pleased it changed back.I remember that ... hard to believe it was real, but yes, it was:

Newton Heath was changed to Manchester United in 1902, having been founded in 1878*. They maintain that the club was founded in 1878, so why shouldn't we use 1861, after all that organisation actually had the same name as the current Crystal Palace?
(* N.B. Manchester United officially changed their name to ManUre in 1990). 🤣
I also read an article that said we were founded in 1861 before turning professional in 1905, its just a complete fabrication, 2 completely different clubs, no connection between them. I wish we would drop this and stick with 1905
Yes that's the reason 😂😂😂😂😂
Except they're not wrong. 🤦🏻♂️
Clearly the formation years of other clubs is really going to piss you off when you go digging
It's 1861, that's it.
History changes as we learn more. Otherwise paleontology wouldn't be a thing.
1860 Muchen didn't kick a ball for 50 years, so stick that in your pipe. For me the question is simple. Was there a club called Crystal Palace playing football between 1875 and 1905. If the answer is no then they are 2 separate clubs.
I don't care if someone says yeah but there was a holding company or the accounts say this....
It's about football.

Speak for yourself. But we haven't learned anything. That's the point!
but if we learn that we haven't learned anything, isn't that learning something? accordingly we have learned a thing and ergo the statement that we haven't learned anything is false. But we haven't learned anything. That's the point!
Their historians might be as efficient as their economic advisers.Newton Heath was changed to Manchester United in 1902, having been founded in 1878*.
