Team and predictions for Shelbourne

We should be able to field a weaker team and still win (with just a couple of first teamers). If needs be put the big boys on later on. They really are due a rest. I think Glasner will start a strong 11 (probably wise I guess) but I would start.....

Benitez
Richards Lerma Canvot
Clyne Sosa
Esse Hughes Pino

Uche Nketiah
That wont win the game. Its really a second team and thats a bit disrespectful to Shelbourne. I agree all those players should be involved but starting them is asking for trouble.

3:0 to us and I would rest Mateta for the Man City game (and does he look like he needs it) and start the front 3 as Devenny, Uche and Esse. Go stronger elsewhere but give these 3 some game time 🙂 Also depending on Munoz fitness for Sunday only start Clyne if Munoz is back Sunday. Otherwise put Canvot in at Wing Right back?

Benitze

Canvot - Lerma - Guehi

Clyne - Hughes - Kamada - Sosa

Pino - Esse

Uche

I like the team, but there is 0 goals in it. Guehi's is top scorer - with 2.

OG will almost certainly go with Mateta and/or Nketiah too. I'd like To think Uche will get A start, which will probably make a front 3 of

Uche - JPM - Pino

The only surprise will be if Glasner doesn't field his strongest side. He always does that. Not fielding your strongest, would be an unnecessary gamble, and would also deprive fans of seeing the best players

1-2 to Palace

It's a too big a game to make wholesale changes. We've got two full days recovery before the Man City game (they have 3), but we've become somewhat used to this now.

We simply have to win. I'd go for:

Henderson
Canvot - Richards - Guehi
Clyne - Hughes - Wharton - Mitchell
Kamada - JPM - Pino

Shelbourne are pretty rank and on par with a League 1 side at best. That said, I've seen us struggle against the likes of Stockport, Fredrikstad, Grimsby and Larnaca in recent times. On paper it should be a simple win but it's not always the case. We need to turn up ready for scrap, because they'll be up for it.

In an ideal world (and hopefully realistic) we'll be 2 up at around 55-60 mins. That being the case, I'd sub off Wharton, Mitchell, JPM and Pino (for Lerma, Sosa, Eddie & Uche) to wrap them up for Sunday. That leaves us 1 sub in case of injury.

With Munoz (returning from injury) and Lacroix (rested) for the Man City game, we should be relatively fresh. I'm reading from some sources that Sarr could be in contention.

I'd be inclined to make more changes for the KuPs game as we only have 48 hours until travelling up to Elland Road.

Prediction: Shelbourne 0 -2 Palace.

I'd get the game won and then make subs. We can't afford to mess this one up.

We will probably lose to City, rested or not.

After us beating Liverpool 3 times recently, nothing surprises me anymore.

if Shelbourne get an early goal, its game on. Those Norwegians were nearly in wheelchairs and they gave us a tough time.

I like that line up giving much needed game time to fringe players. And don’t worry about Shels I’m very familiar with the league here in Ireland and ANY eleven we pick if they have the right attitude will easily win.

I know we would like a under strength team but we have all underestimated the teams we have been playing in Europe so far this season.

This game would be like a final for shelbourne the way the lower league teams treat prem teams in the fa cup.

Fullish strength, may 1 or two changes, kill the game and then bring on the subs in my opinion.

So Munoz needs surgery and hasn’t travelled…JP Sarr and Canvot have not travelled either. Won’t be much on the bench tomorrow. A couple of kids and 3 keepers ?
