Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

If true shocking we blew around 26m on this guy and the best loan we can get is a club like that.

Another thing I noticed is a lot of talk about Liverpool/Arsenal/Man City after center back yet nothing on Guehi front with others trying to sign players from abroad (Not sure whats going on he will be cheap yet people don't want to touch him maybe they don't rate him to be worth even say 30-40m)

I want him gone we need the cash.

I'm really surprised with this. Every club knows that they can get Marc for under market value this summer.

And lets be honest, he's better than most defenders in the league. Might only be Arsenal that actually have better.

We still seem be in ‘players out’ mode rather than ‘players in’ mode.
There’s the news of Franca’s proposed loan to a Brazilian club and this is followed by the news today of Mustapha’s loan to a German club.
I know some on here were suggesting he could be pushing for a squad place this season.
On top of that Glasner has said two of the current squad, believed to be Edouard and JRS have been told to find new clubs.

There are 6 days to go in the window and there’s still no concrete news of incomings.
Lots of disparate rumours of a range of players including Gallagher, El Khannouss, Akanji, wingers from Bruges and Spain, young centre halves from France etc.
It all looks a bit scattergun.

The key focus should surely be on a high quality replacement for Eze, and an experienced replacement for Guehi (if the intention is to sell him).
These would seem to me to be the priority positions as a bare minimum.

The only realistic assumption you can make is Guehi has made it known he only wants to go to Liverpool.

I think Franca's loan is the first step towards his permanent departure. It frees up a squad place ( ha ! ) and reduces the wage bill a little. I think there was little prospect of him fitting into a Glasner team.

Whether Guehi goes or not, we need another centre back. I'd be happy with Akanji. He's capable of genuinely competing for a starting place and of course being there for the inevitable injuries and suspensions. And has EPL experience.

The clock's ticking fast now. I had hoped that the timing of Ebs's departure would be closely followed by the signing of his replacement, but no. Although OG claimed that the player had at least been identified.

It's going to the wire !

Which I've been saying on here for quite a while now as I heard it from someone that has been spot on with the other info he's passed on to me ( it's not Dazza ! ) - going back a year ago when Newcastle were in for him.

Looking at Liverpool's defensive performances recently, they are shipping two goals per game....surprised they are not pushing harder for Guehi - maybe they will now.

I'm surprised we're not looking at Kobbie Mainoo. A very gifted young player who I think for around £40m UTD would let go.
Amorim obviously doesn't rate him and with the WC coming up i'm sure Mainoo would welcome the move.

Without going into details of whether they played much or at all, we have replaced two loans with two perms at goalkeeper and left back and lost the following since the giddy heights of a fullish squad prior to Christmas last year

Schlupp
Ward
Holding
Chalobah
Eze
Franca

Then we have fringe players still on our books but apparently not required

Ahamada
JRS
Edouard

Then we have long term injured

Doucoure
Riad

I’m sure I’ve missed a couple but the point is, there is a lot of work to be done in the next few days. Eze replacement plus 3 minimum for me.

Hell of a lot of work to do!

Ahamada and JRS weren't in the squad on Sunday so presuming they are on the way to getting something finalised.

Agree that we need a decent amount in. 3 perms and 2 loans

I don’t disagree with your assessment.
If correct though that would mean 3 out and 4 in over the next days.
Seven transactions.
That becomes nine transactions if Guehi goes and is replaced.
I don’t see all that happening and agree with others who suggest it’s all too late and looks a bit desperate.
It seems reasonable for one or two transactions to be done in the last few days of the window, but not nine.

Despite being told they are not wanted, we can't really sell JRS or Eduoard until we get new bodies in as our squad is already perilously small. I think JRS might end up at Saints now Dibling has gone. Eduoard seems to be holding out for a deal that suits him, having seemingly not taken up offers in the MLS or France so far.

The fact we're struggling to fill a bench when only a few players are injured paints a bleak picture.

The way Konate performed last night shows that Liverpool are desperate for someone like Guehi. If we let him go , it should be £50m minimum either now or January.
In the meantime, we need FOUR incoming players to satisfy our squad requirements and to keep Glasner positive. Both are crucial. Time really is not on our side. We need to crack on.

It's not that surprising to be honest. Palace have stated they want £40m - all those clubs have starting centre backs for this season so they could go and spend £15-20m on a back up CB and then get Guehi on a free next summer.

Means options for them are £40m this summer for 1 centre back or £15-20m by next summer and have 2 centre backs

We also need to remember - Liverpool could buy the majority of centre backs in the world for £50m. Why would they get close to that for a guy they could sign for free in 12 months?

Why did Arsenal sign Rice for £110m with 12 months left. To guarantee they get him.

In 12 months time, Marc may, have every big club in world football offering him a contract. Liverpool might not look so attractive if Barca, Madrid, PSG come calling.

At present, c.£40m for a 25 year old England centre back that walks straight into 18 teams in the league is a good price.

The rumors are those clubs that need center back are not spending only 15-20m they will be spending around 40m this is why I was puzzled people wouldn't just get Guehi.

I do wonder if many of them don't rate him for big club or they see him as not a fit for there style.

I can't see it being Guehi just saying Liverpool or no one.

We need to push his move we can't allow him to stay and get nothing for him and he wont sign new deal leaving him open in Jan to speak to people or even sign a deal for abroad club.
