Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

We were, that's a bit of a come down from us.
Not just us, I would have thought a PL club would have picked him up. So I guess all that stuff about him going to Palace was agent talk.

""Besiktas are close to completing Jens Cajuste deal on loan from Napoli, working on final details and payment terms.
€1m loan fee plus €6.5m buy option clause""

Another one agent has been pushing.

It’s that time of the year again when agents draw attention to players and journalists have fun making links to players realistic or not. Facts would spoil the fun most of the time. For my money the ex QPR player was never good enough for us ,but the connection to Eze was all the journalists needed. And Cajuste, just happened to be available, so as they do so often , they take a guess , on a player that I doubt we even looked at.

Sky are linking us with midfielder Cajuste who was on loan at Ipswich last season.
I saw Ipswich at Selhurst last season, and also on TV on a few occasions and I couldn't recall him.
He did play against us but obviously didn't leave an impression as I can't remember him.
Anybody remember him?
Cajuste started against us in the 1-0 home game last season but was substituted not too long before the end of the game.
A tall defensive midfielder with a long throw.

Rangers reportedly interested in JRS. As Martin, was supposed to have wanted him for Southampton, this could well have legs. Got a feeling this could be the year for JRS to move on, as the rumour was last year that he insisted on getting away.

JRS is a decent player, not seen anything to suggest good enough for palace team. Best for all if he moves on

Its about squad building with bargain players that obviously Glasner likes, Benitez free, Sosa 2/3m, Diakite 9m, the only big spending will be any replacements for those sold, we already have a good team, we don't have a good squad.

Hopefully, but he does prefer playing on the right, the opposite to eze.
Arsenal must be running out of funds or FFP.

It's clear that Eze is not their no 1 target just like the Wilf saga all those years ago.

Eze is a bright lad would you really want to go to a club that doesn't seem that bothered if they sign you?

Freedman chased Olise for a long time when he was at Reading I think it was his persistence that impressed Michael.

I suspect the same was with Eze when he signed.

So my advice to him is don't go to a club that is not ripping up tree trunks for you.

Eze is a very bright lad who will be very aware that he would spend a lot of time getting splinters up the bum on arsenal's bench.

Hopefully this is a smart policy.

We are not going to be in Europe most seasons and unless it is Champions League we may not even make much money on those occasions that we are.

We need a stronger squad as you say but we should do this on the assumption that it is just for the PL and any European adventures are just that.

If we ever establish ourselves as a top 8 club then we think again but for now I still see us as a mid table team with the occasional good season.

I thought the same.
Saka has that right sided position in attack sewn up and Madueke looks like a fish out of water when played on the left.

I assume that Saka’s injuries last season are seen as contributing to their challenge for the title falling away and they don’t want to be caught out again so they want serious competition and cover.

Odegard’s injuries similarly cost Arsenal last season and I wonder if Eze is seen more as alternative midfield option rather than in a wide role (if they are seriously interested in him).

A shame in some ways. Thus, I would love us to sign Diomande and KEEP Guehi.

What a defence!

And what terrible business.

Based on current rumours it feels like we've gone from shopping in the Hamley's Toy Section for the likes of Diomande to scrabbling for out-of-fashion odds and bobs in Poundland. Hopefully, this is a sign of expert scouting and not a sign of an empty bank account.

Good, to get a player to replace any of the first 11, what cost 35m+ what is the point of that, replace anyone that leaves with similar quality, and improve the bench with 6/7 improved players. on two year contracts.

Just as a general comment, I read this on the BBC website today.

"Partick Thistle have appealed for fans with spare rooms to take in new signings, and help them integrate into life in Glasgow.

The fan-owned club, who play in the Scottish Championship, told BBC Scotland News four supporters had already responded to the initiative."

There's a big part of me that thinks this is a great idea... propose the Fan Advisory Board takes this up with so we can offer our own Palace Fan / player buddy system. What could go wrong?
