Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

Far from nonsense grumpy

The medical was in preparation of a transfer ,a transfer that was always on the condition that we would find suitable cover . The manager didn't want it to happen and by all accounts the player was happy to stay and go on a free .
The suitable cover Parish lined up was Brightons 5th choice centre back , what a complete joke .And to rub salt into that open wound he knocked us back for West ham .
Other options were explored , none of which were found to bare fruit .

Parish now has ten months to get Guehi's signature on a piece of paper , to steal a line from another deadline day , or draft day as they call it in the US

'Whatever it takes'

it was nonsense as I said you have not added anything new

We should have sorted things out earlier we knew he was going the same with Eze who Arsenal had contacted us at beginning of the window yet we kept messing around.

We had other areas that needed addressing before all the out going players as well and have we solved all those and it's typical panic action at the end.

If this was US sports SP would be out of a job now but the American owners are so clueless and hands off they just go with what he is doing.

We got to get ready now for live without OG 100% he is gone end of the season and I don't blame him the same with Guehi is gone as well for free.

Don't you start dictating when I can and can't wet my bed. It's bad enough we have to pay taxes and go to prison for not paying our TV licence but last time I checked urinating on my bedding was a protected bastion of Britishness. Go and live in the EU if you want to get all dictatorial about the dampness of my sleeping quarters.

You're pissed at the bed wetting stipulations....I get it.

No way I'm off to the EU though....I've heard the French bed wetting smells of onions, the Germans of sauerkraut and the Spanish version makes you vomit and is meshed in with armpit hair.

You're definitely not grumpy enough Mort.

I want some more grump!

C'mon get out of first gear and really go for it.

They have destroyed the future of humanity and need to be put to rights!

Sorry I’m being an idiot but
Is CPFC bank balance is £0 and our chairman and investors broke?? , why do we have to sell our players to fund transfers
Does this mean Wharton will go fund us next season

It's kind of scary how skint we are.

On the low, I think we've come out smelling of roses considering we had no choice over Eze.

We are skint because of bad decisions. (one of them being happy to just survive every year and taking years with a new stand which has not even started)

Buying players and putting them on high wages and then getting people who don't have much resale with large % of them going on free.

Spending sums like 26m on Franca and now Guehi going on a free when we had multi chances Newcastle/Spurs around 70m and then Liverpool 35-40m.

But it's ok SP saved the club it over rights everything even the large sums of money he is taking out of the club every year as well.

Excellent, you're a fan and this is your right.

Just as we get over positive people everytime we feck up a game we should have won (some of them sound like they are on Valium)) the unhappy counter is just as valid.

I'm happy as Larry personally.

That is nonsense.

He went and had a medical for Liverpool it was agreed.

Plug was pulled when we failed last minute to do some deals for incoming.

We have now lost out on 35-40m.

This whole Transfer window has been a complete mess and maybe with SP wasn't spending money and focused on errors he made related to Europa League they would have done something early but I doubt it we see it every time and this time we have been made too look like the amateurs we are.
Did you want Guehi sold and replaced or have you decided that tonight to have something to moan all night about.

You are even grumpier than usual.

What price are we obligated to pay?

Approximately £17 million for Christantus Uche at the end of his one-year loan from Getafe, as part of the mandatory purchase option in the deal finalized on September 1, 2025.

Some outlets mention potential add-ons (e.g., performance-based bonuses, sell on percentages), but no specific amounts for those were confirmed in the announcements.

How many times. Guehi did not want to go to Newcastle or Spurs!!!!!!!

And those days of Sakho, Benteke etc and no resale value are long gone. Franca probably a mistake but no club gets all transfers right.

Do you remember Ambrose and Scannell going? That was an emotional few days. Some thought it was the end of the club or the world.

They still haven't rang me....or you.

I've told this true story before but I remember some bloke in the stands close to me shouting out to Scannell, during the match, that he loved him in what I can only describe as a suspicious manner.....Scannell heard him and had a slightly embarrassed look on his face.

Any explanation of why the Manor Solomon deal fell through? Odd that the year when we have extra fixtures we haven't used the loan options. Probably just one fallout of leaving everything to the last minute

What an underwhelming few weeks off the pitch it’s been.

I am and always have been a SP fan - but dropping the ball on the UEFA debacle and the ineptitude shown in trying to put forward a coherent case to overturn the decision has certainly dented my confidence in him.

The performance of those involved in negotiations for new players has fallen well below the reasonable expectations of most fans.

An ambitious manager has shown us all that mid table mediocrity doesn’t have to be our destiny - but if SP doesn’t share that ambition how do we move forward?

Look at Old fatty at Forest, he may be many things (most thoroughly unpalatable) but his ambition has seen them rise from Championship also rans to top six challengers in only three or four seasons.

For the first time, I am questioning if SP is the problem?

We regularly see teams performing like Forest, shooting up the leagues and threatening to break the glass ceiling to the sound of gasps all around, they're not a standalone example, but it hasn't yet worked out for anybody on this approach yet. If they go the same way as all the others they'll capitulate and be back down in the Championship in a few years.

How does anyone know that we are losing Glasner. Glasner clearly would love to keep Guehi but is this a decision for his own personal credibility or is it because he really is dedicated to the club ?
Glasner made it clear Guehi could not go without a suitable replacement. However, by pulling the deal Glasner will shortly have to cope with no Guehi AND no money to replace him. Is it likely he will stick around in these circumstances?

If we’ve taken in £60+ million for Eze and Edouard I suspect we’re in profit from this summer’s dealings.
I don’t believe we’ve spent this sum on our new acquisitions in which case we may not have even touched this summer’s transfer budget (assuming there was one)!

Guehi staying gives us some much needed breathing space.
The club can determine the progress of Jaivot and Riad and, if they are not ready, prepare properly for the eventual departure of Guehi by sourcing a proper replacement .
At least in theory, but it will probably be another 11th hour scramble!

One odd feature of the window was the pursuit of Salomon.
Unless he only became available at the last minute, it seems strange that the club would leave this until the last few hours of the window.
