This is an interesting point. Parish mentioned on Lineker's podcast how OG is "a new breed of manager" who still actively manages the playing and technical staff, but who at the same time uses data in a much more profound way.

So maybe the data and systems interpreting that data have taken over some/all of the traditional DoF role.

Always suspicious of this sort of story. It’s common knowledge he is in talks to extend with Palace, Palace won’t want to sell anyway. So all this really does is stir that process in Mateta,s favour in his agents haggling. Like Marc, I hope he remains professional and doesn’t have his head turned.
