If it is true, and there is no real genuine verification at the moment so that has to be acknowledged, then I cannot see it bringing down the Government. The system does not work like that. Needs to an effective vote of no-confidence or the House to vote itself into an election. And that ain't going to happen in a million years for Labour with that majority (and to be fair, the same could be said for any government in that position.
Starmers position however...different kettle of fish. One of the reasons I am convinced both Wes Streeting and Angeal Rayner are distancing themselves from the assisted dying legislation. Both see it as a potential slipping stone in the future and both are angling for a possible leadership contest soon. However that is off topic so apologies.
If these allegations are even half-true then Starmer will be under pressure. But sadly we are stuck with this current shower of shite for a while longer although lets be honest, who would replace them? In the same interview that Starmer alludes to what we are discussing, he also says a lot of other stuff which in my opinion renders him and Reform unfit to govern. But again, a different topic.
